Really well organized outfit, timely and professional. The owner is very friendly and all his guides take after him. The duo paragliding is excellent, feel safe the whole time and worth the time and money. Note 2 of the 3 guides, owner included, spoke perfect English but one didn't, no worries about that. If you want an English speaker for comfort level just say so.
It takes about 2 hours in total, from the meeting point 09:00, the drive to the ski lift, prep up top and the 15-30 minute glide.
Amazing experience, the guides have a GoPro to film and photo, so no need to bring your own.
The meeting point is also the landing point, so no worries about the car.

So glad we could use our Oberstaufen card (10€). Free bus and free ride up the modern cable car. Money back in one trip. The walks from the top are as easy or hard depending on you. Beautiful views and a few places for drinks and food. A lovely few hours well spent.

Something for everyone no matter what age (slide,outdoor and indoor pools,sauna and steamrooms,...),and free entry if you stay in some of the local accomodations offering "Oberstaufen Plus" package.Sometimes a bit overcrowded.But don't forget to bring towels as they charge deerly for rental ones!

The gondola up the hill and then you will find plenty of hiking opportunities. As well as opportunity for eat and drink. Especially good for families with kids - special walking trail with lots of informatian in interactive format (German only).
And - Rodelbahn!! (with free access for Oberstaufen Plus Card!).

Kinder wie die Zeit vergeht. 1988 war ich als Jungspund das erste Mal in Bubi's Bar. Den Spruch "In ist wer drin ist" hat der gute Bubi beim Baby Schimmerlos und "Kir Royal", dem TV-Gassenhauer der 1980er Jahre geklaut. So ist die Zeit hier auch stehen geblieben. Respekt, trotz allnächtlichem Einsatz seit 27 Jahren haben sich Bubi und seine Inge noch sehr ordentlich gehalten. Die Bar ist sowas wie der inoffizielle Treff der Oberstaufen VIPs und derer, die es gerne wären. Die kleine Bar in der Ortsmitte ist immer noch mit kleinen Lämpchen geschmückt, wie einst im letzten Jahrtausend "Kai's Bistro" in München am Viktualienmarkt. Bubi steht auf Golf, Fußball, genauer den FC Bayern und immer noch Michael Schumacher mit Ferrari. Davon künden unzählige Bilder und Widmungen an den Wänden. Bubi mit Uli Hoeness, Bubi mit Gerd Müller, Bubi und Inge mit Waldemar Hartmann etc. pp.
Wer sich daran stört, sollte seinen Abend woanders verbringen. Ich komme immer wieder gerne hier her zurück und bin nach kurzer Zeit im Gespräch mit anderen Gästen und nach gut einer Stunde wieder auf dem Laufenden was sich im Ort so getan hat; wer im letzten Jahr neu oder wieder nach Oberstaufen kam oder wer bedauerlicherweise verstorben ist.
Weiter viel Glück an Bubi und Inge. Gut, dass das hier als Sehenswürdigkeit geführt wird. Die Bar ist tatsächlich eine.

This is a short course but not at all boring. The differences in elevation make for some interesting holes. I usually shoot scores in the 90's and thought this was a great course. It is very hilly so if you walk make sure you have a light bag or good trolly. I was worried when I heard that tee times were not needed but the system of just going out when you are ready seemed to work just fine.

Erst fallen einem die Fensterläden gar nicht auf. Beim zweiten Hingucken, dann oooh! Das ist eine witzige Idee die Läden eines Hotels besonders zu gestalten. Wir hatten das Glück auch noch einige Tage im Hotel Ludwig Royal verbringen zu dürfen. Wunderbar und einfach empfehlenswert. Nicht nur wegen der Fensterläden ;-))

Der einzige Nachteil dieses Museums ist: Es ist nur an drei Wochentage jeweils 2 Stunden geoeffnet, was wohl am Zeitbudget der sympathischen, aelteren Herrschaften liegt, die die Betreuung des Museums uebernommen haben, und die ich bei meinen zwei Besuchen dort antraf.
Ansonsten: Einige Dinge hat man schon in anderen Heimatmuseen gesehen, wie die Zimmereinrichtungen, Geraetschaften aus Kueche und Keller etc., hier gibt es aber noch viel Besonderes: Eine schoene Krippensammlung, Spielzeug, teilweise selbst hergestellt, eine wunderschoene, komplette Schusterwerkstatt unterm Dach, und als Attraktion Nr 1. eine alte Strumpf-Wirkmaschine, numerisch gesteuert (wuerden wir heute sagen), die dem Museum ja auch den Namen gab.
