Very popular scenic park, more internaitonal than its name would suggest, it contains a Greek temple, Chinese pagoda and Japanese tea house.

English Garden has so many nice - and various - sights and atmospheres. You need hours to grab them all and every time the experience is different. The sights are: the surfers´Eisbachwelle in the South, the temple-like round pavillon Monopteros on a steep hill, the impressive wooden tower Chinesischer Turm with restaurant and large beer garden and the classic style Seehaus, restaurant and beer garden at the small Kleinhesseloher See. These sights are scattered beween large lawns and massive trees, traced by curved ways and a small rivet with mossed rocks and small Bridges. The English Garden extends to the North far beyond the city limits and gets less groomed and more natural, partly nearly wild.

Amazing building with the Kunstbau part located in the UBahn station where temporary Exhibitions take place, it is worth the visit mainly due to the Blau Reiter floor (Kandinsky, Jawlensky, Klee and others).

Built by two architect church-designing brothers between two buildings, this church will knock your socks off! Having seen churches all over Europe, this one takes the cake...and this cake is frosted in every way! Frescos, paintings, statues, gilded everything. You must see it to believe it. It is so laden with everything, it is gaudy in a way yet extraordinarily beautiful.
We had to work hard to get in. We trudged there twice on a Friday and it was closed. On our third trip, a Saturday morning, we finally hit the jackpot. It was worth the effort.

A raucous celebration of Bavarian culture, Munich's Oktoberfest is one of the world's oldest, biggest, and longest parties. Dating back to 1810, the event these days kicks off when the mayor taps the first keg at noon on the third Saturday of September. Some 6 million revelers spend the ensuing 16 days clinking and drinking 1-liter beer steins, eating sausages and doughy pretzels, and swooshing through the air aboard carnival rides. Technically a folk festival rather than a beer festival, Oktoberfest features plenty of merrymakers in traditional lederhosen and dirndl dresses belting out old Bavarian songs in giant tents and beer Gardens. Regardless of attire, though, anyone is welcome to link arms and join the fun.

We were camping nearby which was not luxurious at all. However, once we got to the resort we were utterly blown away! The site was vast and had so much entertainment and atmosphere. The tents all brought a different character and decorations. The food stalls and tourist memorabilia were as expensive as you would expect but all worth the money. They all offered the ability to recycle the plastic bottles bought in the area which I thought was brilliant. The location is easy to get to with clear signs and well checked with security. Wish we had stayed there longer! Would definitely come back again!

The Tourist Information office is worth visiting and the walking tours from it are excellent. Worth going to see the chiming of the bells but check the times and don't expect too much. The Town Hall is worth seeing from the front - but not the back!

Before arriving at Munich I was kind of worrying about what we could do there.
Of course there is Neuschwanstein, and Hohenschwangau, Linderhof or Oberammergau...but they are far from Munich and require a tour, buses or train transportation...
But in Munich itself ...what can be done ?
We did not enjoy shopping that much (not so cheap), Nymphenburg is far from the other European Castles and Palaces ...
And how many times can one walk to the Marienplatz Square ....
But then we discovered this Botanic Garden and it was AWESOME !
I have attached plenty of pictures ... But there is much much more to see there ...
I really recommend you take the time if you like flowers, trees, or simply green and may be if you're lucky and have some sun ... Then it's the best...

Huge complex of buildings makes this one of the most enjoyable museums you will ever visit. Plan to spend a great portion of the day there since there are so many exhibits and rooms to see.

Photography is my hobby and zoos where the animals are healthy and well cared for are always fun to photograph. So whenever I’m in a city with a good one, I try to make time to visit. I expected to spend a couple of hours, ended up spending the whole day which actually turned out to be one of my most favorite days in Munich! The Zoo was more like a park with lots of trees and grassy spaces, there was even a stream running through it. So it was lovely just walking around. The enclosures were also very open with trees and grass. Unlike what I’m used to in America, where it’s uncommon to see more than one species in an enclosure, here, where possible, many variety of animals were kept together and as a result the animals were more active. Wooden lounging chairs were around some of these mixed enclosures so you could lay back, relax and enjoy the animals interacting. The animals were also much closer to you than here. In der Fledermäuse (bat) grotto, the bats are free and fly all around you, very unique experience. There is also a large goat area where you can go in and pet them. There were so many unique animals that I had never seen before like pale pink pelicans, some sort of mountain goat with these crazy curled horns and baboons with amazing faces. Be sure to go in all the buildings, each had its own surprise, like in the center of the rhino house there was a tree with ropes strung from it. Look closely, there are sloths hanging out in there. So cool! It’s easy to get there by train, has its own stop so no reason not to go.

Cant review fairly since I went on a Monday and the museum is closed! But looks really interesting! Although I went on the Sandemans Third Rieich tour which was great!
