To those who enjoy opera, this performance was incredible. Turns out I am not one of those who enjoy opera so much, but my 6 co-travellers quite enjoyed it.This venue in the open air runs except when lightning is imminent, so we donned ponchos and endured the pre-event rain and then terrarium like humidity within.
Be sure you are a true fan and aware of predicted weather before buying. These are not cheap tickets, and non refundable.

We spent the better part of the afternoon wondering the streets of the old town, beginning with a stop at a Christmas street vendor for a brot and warm glasses of gluhwein. Walking around the town is like being in a time machine, beautiful, historic architecture on cobble stone streets.

Eagles, Kites, Vultures, Owls, American eagles... The trainers bring out the birds, let them fly around free, then call them back. A fantastic performance in a lovely setting. Certainly worth the time and money. To reach, you have to take the Pfänderbahn cable car from Bregenz - which in itself is a great experience. Get the timing right - there are only two shows a day only in the summer months.

Just a couple of kilometers off the main highway connecting Germany and Austria east of Lake Constance, this distillery and shop is made for purveyors of fine Schnapps. and, they have a huge selection, all well-priced. Go for the "alte" ... always! Very friendly and helpful. Don't miss.

The admission of €9,20 is a bit high. The construction is ingenious but the view is a bit disappointing. It is certainly not the best view along the German Alpine Road!Dear Hilde C, thank you for the review. The Pfaenderbahn (cable-car) in Bregenz near Lake Constanz takes you up a mountain called (have a guess..) yes - Pfaender.
Gives youan excellent view over Bregenz and surroudning
not too expensive, not too scray
avoid going there on a sunny summer sunday - you might get squashed between lazy folks not fit enough walking up the Mountains (as me hehe)

This old Town Hall building is magnificent. It was built between 1422 and 1436 after replacing a winery. Unfortunately we could not see inside but the exterior more than made up for the disappointment. The shape of the roof edge is particularly striking, not to mention the old clock and sundial.

Ich bin am schönen Bodensee in Lochau zuhause. Hier ist es zu allen Jahreszeiten schön. In der Nebensaison genieße ich die Ruhe und Stille. Wenn aber im Sommer viele Leute baden und Radfahrer... dann ist es wie Urlaub zuhause!

A great way to see views across Bodensee and Bregenz. The hike up took about 2 hours and we caught the cable car down. The last car leaves the top at 7pm. Lovely shaded walk up, but a little slippery in places.

Wollte schon immer einmal ein SUP austesten. Über Facebook gefunde am gleichen Tag vorbeigegangen und innerhalb von ein paar Minuten war ich scho auf dem Wasser. Super einfach und unkompliziert.
