We just recently had our wedding, Saturday September 16th, at Dromoland Orchard & Stables. We cannot begin to express our gratitude and appreciation for both Michael and Pauline helping making our day special. Not only did they make my now wife and I feel like family, but our friends & families both cannot stop raving how they felt right at home. This was the day of our dreams and having Michael and Pauline apart of that made it that much more special for us. We deeply respect what they do with children and the horses and admire them for both the passion and dedication they both have. Thank you again from the very bottoms of our hearts for everything you do and did for us on our wedding day!!!!! Not only was Saturday a night we will never forget but you also gave a once in a lifetime experience to our guests. We will be back frequently for visits as we sure many of our guests will be as well!

The Horseless Carriage Museum is a unique, privately-owned museum specializing in pre-1914 transportation and early mechanical technology. We feature five century-old vehicles and a 1895 Sawyer & Massey steam traction engine, rare mechanical music machines and an 1890's General Store, and more. Bus and group tours welcome. After booking an appointment to visit the Horseless Carriage Museum near Fenelon Falls, our family approached the unassuming barn not quite knowing what expect. What a surprise when the door slid open! Hundreds of rare or unique pieces of Canadiana are on display in the museum. Five lovingly maintained gas or steam vehicles are the centrepiece of the collection, including the oldest Sawyer & Massey traction engine in Canada, dating back to 1895. The exceptional exhibition doesn't stop there, extending to fully functional vintage music boxes, gramophones and rare wax recordings, bicycles and scores of antique and collectible signs, cans, furnishings, and other meticulously researched and restored reminders of yesteryear. Fans of "Murdoch Mysteries" may even recognize some of the pieces which the museum allows to be used for the popular TV production.
Museum curator and owner Richard Bennett, wife Evelyn, and Evelyn's sister gave us a 90+ minute tour through the barn, proudly and patiently explaining all the details of the fascinating collection. Richard's engaging stories about the items, and seeing and hearing the artifacts actually work, truly brought the collection to life. This is a must-see when in the Fenelon Falls area; simply be sure to pre-book an appointment, and bring along a minimum $5 donation per person to help maintain this one-of-a-kind collection.

Kawartha Settlers' Village is a collection of over 20 historic homes and buildings from Bobcaygeon and the Kawartha Lakes area. Set on nine acres of the original Murphy farm, the Village houses the original Murphy Barn, The General Store, Fairbairn Church, one room school house, fire hall,and more. The artifact collection contains more than 1000 pieces including furniture, clothing, agricultural implements,books, tools and more. It was a little difficult for us to find it because there were no many signs of it on the roads. If you go there, be prepared for the travel in advance. Lovely place for watching the boats come through the lock which just happens to be located right in the centre of town. Many boutiques and country stores within the say walking distance. Lots of restaurant selections and good ice cream parlour across road from locks. Lovely boat docking facilities and very well taken care of Gardens and landscaping. L Ely waterfront walking trails and many hidden gems to stop and shop. Plan on spending the day

Whether you enjoy hiking, cycling, or cross country skiing, Ken Reid Conservation Area is a great place to spend the day. Maintained trails and child-friendly facilities provide a variety of ways for visitors of all ages to experience this natural setting. Kawartha Conservation acquired the 110 hectare (272 acre) property just north of Lindsay in 1980 from farmer Ken Reid. It is both our flagship conservation area and the location of our Administrative Centre for our watershed jurisdiction. Parking is available for $2.00 per day. Please deposit funds into the pay and display machine just before the first stop sign when you enter the park and display the ticket on your vehicle dashboard. Ken Reid offers several loop trails that lead through Forests, meadows, and wetlands. A favourite route includes the floating boardwalk that winds through the provincially significant MacLaren Creek Wetland bordering Sturgeon Lake.

Lovely trails for hiking in spring, summer, and fall - I have not been in winter. I actually have not been since they began charging for parking. But I do recommend this place for a peaceful walk. (Sad they allow motorized atv's on some trails - but, it is what it is)

My family recently spent four days here and enjoyed ourselves. We stayed in one of the premium electrical sites and it was huge, you could have fit 3 trailers on it. Everything from a tent to 34 foot trailers occupied these spaces. The sites in the middle rows were smaller and placed closer together. The outside sites had decent tree coverage, but in the middle it was more wide open. There were 2 comfort stations a short walk away, which was nice for morning showers. The beach was large and few rocks. Cobaconk is close if you need to get supplies. I would go back again.

This theatre looks EXACTLY like the one my mall-rat friends and I visited as teens! The kids got a kick out of the "retro" feel of the place. Staff were the friendliest I've seen at any movie theatre, everything was clean and tidy. We'll definitely take in a show the next time we're in town!

As well as five ‘main’ productions that include Comedies, Dramas and Musicals they also present ‘one-nighters’ featuring some of Canada’s hottest shows and comedy acts; and children’s shows featuring music, magic and puppetry. When the relatives we were visiting in Bobcaygeon told us they were taking us to the local dinner theater, we didn’t know what to expect. The show we saw “Raising the Barn,” was bizarre and silly, and included melodrama, singing, several surprises, and just plain weirdness. But it was funny and very entertaining, and the cast was amazing. The setting - a converted and modified barn out in the Canadian countryside, was nice, and the food was very good. Our dinner included a salad bar, dinner buffet, and ice cream for dessert. We would enthusiastically do this again if we got the chance!

Great place in Bobcaygeon to view all the boat traffic coming back and forth from Pigeon to Sturgeon Lakes. There are restaurants, groceries, beer store and LCBO within walking distance of the lock as well as some tables for picnics. Swing bridge allows for taller boats to pass through the lock. Fine place to people and boat watch on a sunny day.
