Arvika konsthantverk was founded in 1922. It is the oldest co-operative handicraft society in Sweden. One of its initiators was Maja Fjaestad, who worked within the group of artists living and working near Lake Racken. Over the years well-trained craftsmen and craftswomen have brought new influences, which have been combined with the local tradition.

Rackstadmuseet is a museum dedicated to the artists who were part of the Rackstad artist colony by the beginning of the 20th century including Gustaf Fjaestad, Björn Ahlgrensson and Fritz Lindström among others.
