Worst Experience Ever!
Reviewed By 864erangaeWe booked 3 rooms on a local holiday and informed the hotel that it would be a late checkin when the booking is done. Also we contacted the restaurant and ordered some foods for the dinner while we are on the way to the hotel and informed that it would be 10PM when we arrive there. The staff looked bit arrogant with our late arrival and wonder why because we have informed them that we would be late. Even some vulgar words were exchanged among restaurant manager and staff because of our arrival. We do understand the nature of such late checkin but they had enough time to mentally prepare even if they are angry on our late arrival. The rooms were good in condition and worth the price. Location is good and property had been managed well. After check in, we came for the dinner and some of us were preparing to have a drink. Though we have ordered the foods and bites 3 hours earlier, it took around 30 minutes to arrange them for table, which is OK for us. We requested to arrange the dinner in the cabana hall and they agreed for it. The foods were terrible and the worst we had in our lives. There were no sea food in the "sea food fried rice". There are better food on streets than in this hotel. The prices are OK for a hotel meal but the quality of food were very poor. There were 6-8 dogs circulating around us while we are having dinner and some of them were always lied under the dinner table. The staff gave a minimum try to remove them but after we had to do it by our own. We do love dogs but cannot accept such type of a sorrounding when we are having meals. There were not enough space to keep the foods that we ordered and we kept them on another table near by. Suddenly noticed that the dogs are eating the foods climbing on to the tables. It was very disgusting and we were very embarassed. There were no any staff member to inform and attend to these issues. The pool was not cleaned but a staff member cleaned it in the morning. All other facilities are averagely OK except customer service, hygiene and foods. The prices of foods are normal restaurant prices but the quality of the foods are very low, worse than a street hotel. Even the restaurant manager accepted it but charged the same price. Will not recommend this place to any one and will not visit this terrible place again.

Reviewed By S235TNclaralI was nervous travelling as a solo traveller for the first time but the team at Surf and Yoga immediately made me feel like I was part of the family, at my home away from home. The camp is situated on beautiful open grounds with vast views where the nature is right on your doorstep. I personally loved the monkeys! My days always began with the most delicious and nutritious breakfast made by Madu. I am a notoriously fussy eater but the team were so kind and accommodated all of my dietary requirements no questions asked, this went for dinner too which was equally as varied and scrumptious after a packed day. I filled my time with surfing, learning the basics from the coaches really helped me improve my technique and im already itching to get back in the sea! I loved coming back and unwinding with some yoga. All in all I had the most unforgettable experience at surf and yoga Arugam bay, I've made friends I will never forget, learnt new skills and most importantly made memories to last a lifetime!

Reviewed By N7739RNmohamedzMr Saman was a great manager and a great host. He really helped make our stay very comforting as he was a great help to my wife’s elderly parents. Amanda Resort was a fantastic location, the view was absolutely breathtaking as our rooms were surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the beautiful beach. The food was also very delicious, and the staff were very friendly. The food and the accommodation was also set at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend.

Reviewed By JulieConway831What a lovely place to stay. The staff here were great and even had a scooter ready for our arrival following a message sent in advance. We were upgraded to a room with a better view. And it was great. Rooms are big and comfortable. The balcony was great to sit and watch the fishermen bring I their huge hauls. The shower was hot and Wi-Fi was good. Breakfast was nice as were the evening meals we ordered too. Great location

Reviewed By Jac TPro‘s & Con‘s We travelled as two couples and stayed for three nights at memos beach. Overall the stay was okay. But there are also many positive aspects about the accommodation. Pro: - nicely decorated boutique hotel - rooms are made with love and are comfortable - AC is working very well - beach is really 15 steps away from the room - food is good - service is really nice and trying but… Con: - the value for money is definitely not relatable to Sri Lankan standards and definitely not to the hotel. Food is way too expensive. We had other stays during our trip in 5 star resorts and had prices even below memos prices. - the service is very slow and Unfortunately barely speaks English therefore asking questions related to food or anything else is rather complicated - internet is not working at all - room wasn’t cleaned once during our 4 day stay.

I went to Arugam Bay and I arrived at Comfort Beach Hotel just for a week (to see how it was) and it was so confortable and the guys there (Saheer and Salfiyar) were so helpful that I decided to stay the 3 months with them!! Rooms are perfect. Confortable bed, very good fan (enough even during the summer) and always clean. I've used the kitchen as if it was my own house. It was really confortable and relax. I won't hesitate to stay with them next time in A Bay. Thanks for everything. I will be back for sure!

' Farouk ' the owner is very kind and caring person. he prepares foods his own hands, very delicious. De perla is very close to surfing place. i was there by my car but if you need Farouk will provide you his tuk tuk service if required. they have both wooden and cement rooms, i was staying at wooden room, fan and attached bathroom available. it was a perfect stay, highly recommend . again thank you so much ' farouk ' for everything. as you requested me to visit there with my family, yes definitely i will visit you soon.

Reviewed By JA PEine sehr schönes Resort mit einem perfekten Service. Man hat eine Küche, was man nutzen kann. Das war sehr hilfreich für uns, da wir mit einem Baby gereist sind. Der Manager und die anderen Mitarbeiter waren sehr liebevolle und hilfsbereit. Es wurde stets bei allem die Hilfe angeboten, selbst mit dem Spielen :D. Eine Klimaanlage sowie eine Warmwasser Dusche und Wi-Fi ist vorhanden. Zusätzlich ist ein Fernseher mit den lokalen Kanälen vorhanden. Der Strand ist in der Nähe. Vielen Dank Ihre Gastfreundschaft Wir kommen gerne wieder.
