10 Performances in Singapore That You Shouldn't Miss

February 6, 2022 Frederic Celentano

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Spectra - A Light And Water Show

Reviewed By SUDIPCHAKRABORTY_134 - Dhaka City, Bangladesh

Marina Bay has two different identity one at day & another one at night. During night time the environment seems to be magical & superb following glittering skyline, flyer, super-tree groves, bridge, Marina Bay Sands Hotel, shopping mall, theatres, museums & boats on night river cruises. Suddenly we were in front of the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall by 9 pm & discovered the magic of Spectra, a free-to-public outdoor light and water show displayed over the water. Really we were lucky enough to observe such spectacular show being immersed in a beautiful symphony of music, water and light. Hundreds of spectators enjoyed the show. This 15-minute show with dancing water fountains, colourful visual arts, soothing music & special lighting effects are worthy to watch. There are benches in front of the show area to facilitate visitors. There is a chance to be in touch with the mists. Moreover, this is totally a free show. Showtimes: Sunday to Thursday – 8pm & 9pm Friday & Saturday – 8pm, 9pm and 10pm This was a really wonderful visit & my daughters enjoyed a lot.

Kinetic Rain

Kinetic Rain is made up of 1,216 bronze droplets that transform elegantly into multiple shapes, akin to poetry in motion. Carrying an aviation theme, the key element in every shape shows the movement of flight through slow, fluid movements. Some of the more recognisable shapes include an aeroplane, hot air balloon and a kite. One can also make out a dragon and a flock of birds amongst the 16 different programmed segments.
