With a rich pre-Colombian history, Ecuador's capital was founded on the ruins of an Incan city but offers everything a modern traveler might need. It remains the least-altered historic center in Latin America and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Quito’s important sites include baroque gems like San Francisco and Santo Domingo monasteries, as well as La Compañía church and college. This huge city sprawls across a breathtaking Andean valley surrounded by volcanic peaks.

Travelling around Ecuador, we stayed in many different accommodations, Zaysant was our first stop and by far our favourite. It's a perfect place to acclimatize after arriving. The grounds are beautiful, nature and animals, hammocks yeah, the rooms arecomfortable and unqiue, the steam room worked wonders, the food is greatand the family is wonderful. I left feeling like I had a new family. I can't say anything negative about Zaysant. I honestly could have stayed with them for a month. I will be back one day.

Rukka Lodge is a beautiful hotel in Quito, just 20 minutes from Quito international airport, 25 min form Quito downtown, we are within Garden House, a complex surrounded by garden, where there are 5 restaurants and a wellness center, tempered pool and private parking.
We spent 3 weeks at Rukka and used it as a base to travel. The room was comfortable, the staff friendly and the restaurants and gardens were good. There was no reception and very little English spoken. We had family locally to help us as this wasn’t a possibility from the hotel staff.

Hacienda Las Cuevas Terra Lodge is a hotel that is located inside a cave carved in the 70s as a farm house.
El lugar es hermoso pero la chimenea del cuarto estaba mal hecha, no la pudimos usar porque se llena la habitación de humo. El menu es extremadamente limitado, no cambia, se acaban los platos y no hay variedad. El tiempo de servido es super largo. The place is beautiful but the fireplace was poorly made, the room got full of smoke the first day so we couldnt use it. The menu is extremely limited, doesnt change, and they run out of stuff. Serving time is very long

We are a hotel that is located just five minutes from the new airport in Quito, we have very comfortable and cozy bedrooms into a land of peace and tranquility in the midst of nature and the environment, we have a pool and green spaces so you can enjoy stay in Tababela , we opened our doors while the new Quito airport we will be waiting for you.
I stayed at this inn for 3 months during my study abroad program and the owners and staff were so friendly and kind to us! They made us feel like we had a new family there and I would definitely go back. The hostel staff also always cleaned our rooms very thouroughly. The hostel is so cute, with a sunny yellow and white theme, lots of garden spaces and flowers, a pool, and a waterslide. It also has an open grassy back lawn, where they are able to host large events, and always decorate the hostel beautifully! As it is outside of Quito, the air is fresh and clean and there aren't city noises so it is very tranquil, so we almost always got a good nights sleep. There is also a beautiful view of Pichincha and Quito from the upstairs balcony from which you can watch the sunset over the city in the distance.

We had to spend the night near Quito Airport due to a screw up with our airline tickets. The Information center suggested this hotel. We had spent over 8 hours in the airport trying to communicate with our travel company to fix our airline snafu. When we arrived at the hotel after 9pm, the two men there prepared a dinner for us. The were beyond helpful in every way possible, including apologizing to other guests who were disturbed by my having to yell into the computer for Skype calls to the travel company. The sheets were so clean, you could smell the detergent, a mild pleasing scent. I have very high regards for this hotel and even high regard for the men who work here.

Hotel close to the Intenational Quito Aiport Mariscal Sucre. The best option for backpackers, family and gropus . The shuttle service works 24h. Stablishment offers WiFi in all the rooms , continental breakfats is included
Reservations were made a few days prior to arrival. Upon arrival at the Quito airport, where I expected a driver to take us to the hotel, no one showed up. I called and they said to take a taxi. ($10). When we arrived at the front desk, no one was there. Finally, a woman showed up and did not have our reservation. (in her phone) We got a room and to say it was small is an understatement, not much bigger than the bed. The facility was noisy, as it’s located near the end of the runway for the airport, so opening the windows for some fresh air is not an option. The internet was another issue. The information provided didn’t work, and after 20 minutes, including going to the front desk for help with no one there, the receptionist came to our door with the correct information. Once we finally were able to connect, the speed was slow, not even 1mb download. There is no restaurant here like they told me, or anywhere nearby for that matter, but a small café for breakfast. You can order overpriced food to be delivered. I could go on, but the room was clean and when I did speak with someone, they were friendly, and were on time when taking us to the airport in the morning. But my overall recommendation is to go elsewhere.

I had the pleasure of staying at La Belle Vue in November 2017. Firstly, let me assure you, the hotel is well named - the view over the valley and forested mountains is spectacular! Secondly, the owners Paul and Yesse, and their family, are the best hosts ever. We honestly felt like we were staying with family. We were pampered throughout our stay, and they did so much for us. As an example, one of us ran out of some important medicine, and we couldn't find any locally or on the whole route from Quito. It turned out that one of the family owns a pharmacy in Quito, and by the next day, using one member of staff, and the local buses, they had the medicine for us. Amazing! Paul, who is a professional chef, even baked us some bread when I mentioned how much we were missing freshly baked bread (we'd been travelling for nearly 5 weeks!). Needless to say, the food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The rooms are new (I think they were built less than 3 months before our visit), and they are kept spotlessly clean, while the mattress, pillows, and bed linen are fresh and also very clean. We slept well - it was very quiet and peaceful at night. If you're tired at the end of the day (or at any time), they will heat up the jacuzzi for you - imagine relaxing in that bubbling hot tub with the magnificent view! There is also a really nice covered wooden observation deck where you can relax in solid wood chairs and simply enjoy the view, or chat to your mates over a drink, while using the wi-fi, which works well (in the pool / relaxation area, and in the dining / reception area). The main attraction for us in the area was the astonishing forest of the Mashpi reserve (private). The road to the reserve is private, but the unpaved public road along its border is mostly still forested, and in very good condition (I am a natural history tour guide, so I know the difference between poor forest regrowth and decent cloud forest). Be aware: you need to keep your eyes open to find the exit to the lodge from the Gualea to Pacto road. It was not signposted when we went, but the owners had a sign ready to post on the main road ... but there's no guarantee it will be there when you visit. You should take note of the distance you have travelled from Gualea towards Pacto - the exit (a sharp descending turn) is on the right about 9 kms from Gualea - with a sign which I think says to "Guanabana". It's about a 5 minute drive from this turn off to the lodge; or if you stay on the main road, it is a further 5-10 minutes from the lodge turn off to the town of Pacto (5-6 kms). Enjoy!
