Kimamaya by Odin

Even as the snowflakes start to fall, adding powder to the slopes outside, Kimamaya Boutique Hotel remains toasty-warm; a cocoon upon the mountainside. Kimamaya is the Japanese word for ‘be yourself’ and here, you can do just that. Jazz music floats through the homely Living Lounge as your bare feet press against the timber flooring, and all that’s left to worry about is which wine you’ll sip as you laze by the fireplace. The vintages served here come from a vineyard owned by the family of Nicolas Gontard, who renovated this nine-room retreat to help guests get closer to the beauty of Niseko, one of Japan’s most popular ski resorts. But Kimamaya Boutique Hotel’s mountain location isn’t only appealing in winter. In the summer and fall, pristine trails and mountain biking tracks snake through the surrounding pine forests.

What a beautiful and comfortable place !

We are a family of 4 and staid 7 days at this beautiful place. Everything was more than perfect. The rooms were fantastic, comfortable and modern. Service was state of the art with a constant attention to details. Last but not least, Barns Restaurant was a very enjoyable way to start the day with at breakfast, and to enjoy diners with good food. Special thank you to Nicolas, Peter and team. We will come back. For sure!!!

Best Hotel Experience In Niseko

Reviewed By LesterK491

Love this hotel so much. Hotel is nested just 2-3min drive away from the main village but you get see so much openness and space. Feels like you are living in the middle of the wild. Hotel is brand new and room are spacious with great amenities. Onsen (indoor and outdoor) and breakfast were a delight. The Japanese staff speaks perfect English (unlike other Japanese Hotel I stayed in where there was many communication issues). Everything was well sanalized and very very clean. I will be definitely returning next trip and staying here instead of the main village. Nishi-San and Horita-san were very helpful during our stay. I stayed from 11-13 Dec 2020.

Aspect Niseko

Aspect sits on the edge of the famed “Millionaires’ Row” in Hirafu’s Middle Village. The building offers superb views of Mt. Yotei from the 2nd floor up and to a lesser extent the Grand Hirafu ski hill. The property is fitted with the highest quality European and Japanese furnishings. A dedicated concierge service will ensure a level of service you'd expect from a property like Aspect.

The view is spectacular, the facilities are well thought through from all practical aspects, convenient and perfect location. The best part is the concierge team, namely Jay, Aiman, Nicola and Ish. They have been really helpful and taking care of all the details for us. They drive us to places when we want to and recommend places for us to go. This is definitely their highlight.

What a gem in Hirafu. Incredibly well located - easy access to ski schools, supermarket, restaurants and cafes. Small hotel with a nice personal touch, good-sized rooms and stylish interiors. In the same property are Niseko Pizza, Ennishi Japanese and a massage centre! Amazing! Thank you John at the front office!

My Ecolodge

A quaint charming hotel in the middle of Niseko's mountains

Reviewed By Krubee

Nestled in the middle of Grand Hirafu and Mt. Yotei (the Mt. Fuji of Hokkaido) mountains stands this quaint charming budget boutique hotel that provides both shared common rooms and private rooms to their guests. It is one of the most affordable and charming boutique budget hotel in Niseko that is conveniently located in Yamada intersection about 10 mins bus ride from JR Kutchan Station using Niseko express. The hotel also offers free pick-up from Hirafu Center or JR Kutchan station but you need to book a day in advance. The lobby is a bit spacious with the lounge and a lot of seating area greeting you. The cafe is just beside the lobby. Check-in and check-out are very fast and the staff speaks good English and provide you all the hotel rules. There is no elevator in the hotel so if you're in the 3F need to walk-up the stairs but the staff could also assist you. We booked a twin room that costs only 200 dollars overnight with a small single pane window with a view of the main road. The beds are single beds combined together but their comfortable and soft. The shower and toilet is just the right space but the water heating is very difficult to adjust specially the hot water by turning just a bit there is a huge difference. The toilet bowl's flush is also not accurately sprouting the right water in the right direction. But other than these the room is very clean and cozy for a cold winter's night. They provide slippers, mini fridge and space for your clothes/luggage and enough power outlets. The breakfast is so unique and cute - a combination of Western and Japanese dishes and their sumptuous. Salad is fresh, Rice is properly cooked and the dishes are absolutely flavourful. WiFi is a bit slow though. The best part if the location just in front of the hotel is a 7 eleven with lots of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Then behold the mountains behind the hotel on a clear day you will see the heavenly majestic amazingly wonderful Mt. Yotei, with its perfect pyramid cone shape they say it is the Mt. Fuji of Hokkaido. We are lucky to see it on our stay and we took hundreds of photos and videos and even walked into the back of the hotel walking along the creek and into the endless snow blanketed fields. If you look West from the hotel beholds Niseko Mt. Resort Grand Hirafu, a vast ski resort from the top of Mt. Annupuri. At the base lies the lovely Hirafu Village with many shops and restaurants along its path. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel that goes to Hirafu Center and at the same your could also walk for about 15 mins from Hirafu Village back to the hotel. It is indeed a unique and memorable experience staying at this place and although we only stayed overnight it felt like days. One of the amazing dish we tried here is the famous Hokkaido Miso Butter Ramen, which is truly unique, refreshing and divine. Finally, if we ever go back to Niseko there is no doubt we will stay again here at My Ecolodge - a great place to be.

Great location

We had 7 nights and stayed in 501. Great apartment. We used 2 of 3 bedrooms. Very nicely finished apartment. Love heated toilet seats and floors. Great storage in the heated basement for all ski gear. Suggestions- have someone meet you on arrival. We arrived at 100pm but staff don’t arrive back until 300pm. A hot tub would have been great. Great kitchen but a partially stocked pantry would have helped- just some condiments etc. On site staff and cleaners are great. Views across to Mt Yotei were fabulous. The central location is so good for food and lifts, though not ski in. Highly recommend.

Pricey but convenient location

Reviewed By khool2017

The MUSE in Hirafu is a modern -styled apartment. We rented the 3 bed room for our family of 6 adults with 2 to each room. The living, kitchen and dining areas are spacious and well set-up so even for all 6 adults to be in the space. The check-in was not smooth as we had to go to another hotel ( who manages MUSE) to get the keys and the staff at this hotel is not familiar with MUSE. There is a handbook in MUSE that you need to read through to know how things work in the apartment . MUSE is located near the main junction of Hirafu and close to supermarkets , restaurants and coffee shops. However it is not ski-in ski-out so it is a trade off. Overall we enjoyed our stay there as it met our requirements.

Kozue's pristine riverfront and clifftop site enjoys views of rolling hills through the fine branches of the treetops, which are known as 'kozue' in Japanese. Kozue boasts a prime Hirafu Village location with easy access to the slopes, and embraces Niseko's natural beauty in each luxurious aspect.

Very Convenient and Relaxing. Works well for Skiers and Non-Skiers.

Reviewed By wonderingwanderer_11

Stayed for a week with family. Half our group skied; half did not (the older ones). Not often the case a property can cater to both groups. The skiers were ferried up to wherever they wanted to start on the mountain, and picked up as well when they finished skiing. The non skiers enjoyed the under 5 minute walk to the Vale/Shiki/Ezo/Lawsons etc as well as just staying home in the very cozy flat. Right across was Shiki which has Green Farm cafe for breakfast, a great deli plus gourmet restaurants Kamimura and Kitchen. The rooms were also really quiet- couldn't hear traffic, snow clearing or teenagers dressing up in snow gear! The property had a driver and car available to bring some us to the next towns (more food adventuring and food shopping) and any further restaurants we wanted to try (walking in the cold and snow was a bit much for some members of the group). One minor issue was that while the ski room was really convenient, the actual storage capacity of the ski lockers felt really cramped given the number in our party. Minor issue though, we'll definitely be back.
