In busy Shinjuku, you’ll find some of the tallest buildings in Toyko, as well as tons of shopping malls, bars and clubs. To escape the hustle and bustle, TripAdvisor travelers recommend visiting Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, a beautiful and peaceful park in the middle of the city.

Located in the heart of Kagurazaka, our hostel UNPLAN brings to you a space where anyone can sit back and relax, whether they are new to, revisiting, or residing in Japan. Our lounge on the 1st floor is open all day from 8AM. We have four different types of rooms, including dormitories and private rooms.
Stayed here for a few days at the start of the Rugby World Cup. The hostel is super clean and close to a number of subway stations. It's a quiet place so possibly not the best for solo travellers. The lounge area opens as a cafe to the public so is often busy with hip local people. Breakfast is included and consists of bread, eggs and a choice of drink. They also serve other dishes during the day for reasonable prices. I would definitely stay here again

Excellent location walking distance to Shinjuku, and very reasonably priced for the area. Good quality sleep for a 10-bed dorm, guests were respectful and pod-style beds make it easy to have darkness. Overall very clean, staff friendly. Excellent free breakfast included in our stay composed of a choice of 3 paninis, fruits, vegetables and potatoes, as well as buffet cereal. Would be nice to have another quick option like toast as the paninis do take some time to make, but very good quality breakfast. Bar area downstairs and lounges on dorm floors, though I did not find there was much atmosphere overall, but I did not mind as we did not choose this hostel for atmosphere. Overall good value for money.

In the weird part of Shinjuku, not far from the red-light district but also close to Korea town and stations. Room was small as expected, included kitchen but no cooking utensils at all. Wifi was nearly non-existent. It’s price, at least by Tokyo’s standards, was its beet feature.

All staff are courteous and helpful. This accommodation has a real nice set-up, very accessible, and close to what a traveler would need. Reasonably priced and will certainly be my place of choice, when I come back:-)

There is a desk and chair, a flat-panel television、and a refrigerator. Only 1.2 miles (2km) from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, 17.4 miles (28km) from Haneda Airport. Shinjuku area is popular for shoppping, entertainment, and a vast choices of restaurants to choose from! Multilingual assistance is also available!

Japan is such a great place to travel solo in and places like this with a female only floor make it so much better! Clean, comfy and not at all claustrophobic which I always worried capsule style dorms would be!

If you are OK sleep with noises, then this hostel is OK for you. As other review, the room (I stayed at ground floor) are not sound proof. You can hear somebody else talking at other rooms. The location is just about 150 meters from Okubo station, a JR Line station, very convenient if you are using JR Pass for going around Tokyo city. The check in hour is around 3 pm, but we can leave our luggage at the reception, but ensure there the luggage are locked. Keep the valuable item in the provided small locker at the reception and it's free.

The shower has a very bad smell, cable routing had not very good conditions, I picked the last bed in the room and it didn't even have a pillow, inside the fridge everything is rot. The pictures showed here are so far from reality, if you go to Tokyo with a very reduced amount of money however this is not the place, you can find another with a little bit more money, same area and 10 times better

My daughter and I stayed for one night before moving on to Kyoto. I confirm other reviews in their: - Location between 2 JRLines - Near Shinjuku - convenient short walk to main street where there are is food , convenient stores etc The building looks new and modern. The pick up instructions are clear and concise and the manager, MJ ( who converses well in English) is very responsive and would remind me if I hadn't responded about something via email. The room is indeed small and just ok for 2 people and already you need to be organised about where you place and open your suitcases (we had 2 big ones). I just ended up placing my suitcase in front of the door at night before bed. The other one could sit on the 2 seater couch. The beds are comfortable and there is aircon / heater PLUS a humidifier. The TV monitor very conveniently swivels so it can face all sides of the room. The kitchen is well equipped and they even provide necessary detergents for dishes and washing machine. For a very small room, the bathroom is very spacious. There is first a dry area where the washing machine and toilet is and you can change in there as well. I LOVE that they prepared many hooks for hanging - something that many hotels have overlooked. The bathtub is nice, new and clean and fabulous to take a nice long soak in. There is a dresser/ desk which has power points for charging. I notice several power points in the room so definitely ample distribution of charging points. I was only there one night but I seem to feel that the Wi-fi was pretty fast. My only complaint is that there are only stairs so you need to be prepared to carry your luggage. I was already warned so I was mentally prepared but good thing my room only on second floor so it was 2 flights of stairs up.
