Perfect location and beautiful hotel. The Grand Hyatt had nice facilities, several restaurants, and an enormously helpful concierge staff that guided us to restaurants, covid testing for flights, filling out forms, etc. They were great.

Amazing location

Reviewed By WillemRW

The location of this hotel is amazing. It’s in the heart of my favorite district of Japan, the Shibuya area. From multiple places in the hotel (unfortunately not my room) you have a view on the iconic Shibuya crossing. The hotel is attached to the central metro station of Shibuya, which is one of the better connected stations in Tokyo; you can be, for example, in Shinjuku within 15 minutes. The front desk is very kind and helpful. The lobby looks good but a point of critique is the fact that the rooms look a bit like they were never upgraded since the seventies. It was clean nonetheless.

I strongly suggest not to use the restaurant because mf very slow service. Actually my grilled chicken came in a hour after order. It bothered me the people working there did not pay any attention to the customer like us although there were only few other customers.

Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Ikebukuro

Affordable, convenient, cozy, and best of all, great staff!

Reviewed By inkcloud

My stay was short, just a few nights before traveling onward. I decided to pick a new hotel so I can experience new areas of Tokyo. I’ve been traveling to Tokyo since 2005 and always seem to stay in my comfort zone, so I decided to try Ikebukuro. After comparing various hotels, I chose Hotel Metropolitan because of its cost, location, ease of access, and overall peer reviews. Getting there was kind of stressful, but none of that was the hotels fault. Due to the late time of my arrival and some public transportation bus/shuttle routes being cancelled due to the pandemic, I had to adapt on the fly and make my way to the hotel. Once you get used to it, the hotel is very easy to find and many modes of transportation are available to from either airport. I eventually arrived and got checked in rather quickly by the efficient and polite staff. The room itself is very clean and cozy, as I’d expect for the rate. I’m not in my room much during the day so I don’t need a lot of space. However, I had two large pieces of luggage with me, and opening those in the room was difficult, given the size. Again, that’s to be expect in Japan, but take note if you are bringing lots of luggage. The restaurants/bars inside the hotel are great, especially the breakfast buffet. I don’t use the hotel restaurants too often as I like to explore and eat out, but they are pretty busy and seem very nice. Outside the hotel, there is a Family Mart, 7-11, and anything else you may need, within walking distance. The most impressive thing, on top of everything else listed, is the customer service. As busy as they are, they still manage to accommodate each guest, with politeness and a smile on their face. This means a lot to me because traveling can be stressful sometimes, and knowing the hotel staff has your back is important. Specifically, Yoshitake, who works the concierge desk, helped me multiple times. Whether it be belong me catch a taxi, printing out forms, finding an adapter for my laptop, or helping me find the fastest route to the airport, she specifically went out of her way to help me, and I’m very thankful for that. Hotel Metropolitan is highly recommended, give them a try if you are looking for a great place to stay in Ikebukuro.

April 22, 2019 Reopen after renovations Shiodome Italian Town was redeveloped based on a new model of cultural exchange as community building. Following this concept, it uses a subtle traditional Italian color scheme: a relaxing combination of olive green and wine red. It brings slightly formal motifs, forms, and patterns such as wood paneling and cornices together with a mature playfulness embedded within. Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia has become more comfortable than ever before, and we hope you can enjoy this unique hotel stay just like an Italian enjoying life!

The location of the hotel was between Shimbashi and Hamamatsucho, and it was a relatively calm area. The interior was excellent, and the room I stayed at this time was a king bed room with a view of Tokyo Tower, which was comfortable. The large communal bath was small compared to the hotels in the local region, and it was not very comfortable. The quality of the food at the breakfast buffet was high and I was satisfied, but I was a little disappointed from the morning because hotel staff seems to be too busy not to smile.

Room with nice view but also streetnoises

Reviewed By Josgreet1

This hotel is located in the relatively new stream building in Shibuya with many eateries and shops around. Entrance may be a bit difficult to find when you first come and cars need to enter through the basement. Hotel rooms are decent size for Japan with a small couch and beds are comfortable. When you stay in front the view from the room is magnificent. Downside is that in spite of the doubleglazed windows you can hear a lot of streetwnoises. So I wouldn’t recommend this place for light sleepers.

Don’t trust the hype!

The room was perfectly adequate and clean and quiet; the staff were friendly; the location close to Haneda airport was another plus. So, why am I writing this review full of platitudes? Because I just had a bad breakfast experience where the only option was a so-called ‘American breakfast’ which was basically what we would get at home in our local diner. About the only healthy item was the symbolic branch of broccoli and I guess the coffee was reasonably healthy. Forget about the hotel’s promotion of a great breakfast experience with a choice of ‘western’ or ‘Japanese’. By all means enjoy the ambience but if I were you I’d give the breakfast option a miss.
