Yemaya Reefs Colibri Boutique Hotel

Yemaya Reefs is a rustic-chic boutique hotel on mystical Little Corn Island, Nicaragua. The island is in the Caribbean about 50 miles off the coast of Nicaragua, surrounded by pristine beaches, beautiful fringe reefs teeming with colorful tropical fish and crystal clear waters. Our cabanas are beach front with only powdery white sand between your cabaña suite and the sea. The snorkeling is breathtaking! Our restaurant features a fusion of local and Nicaraguan island cuisine with delicious flavors, featuring produce grown in our own garden, and seafood straight from the sea that surrounds us. Sway to the rhythm of the coco palms in a big comfy hammock, head out in one of our sea kayaks to explore the reef, or walk along the beaches and jungle trails to see the true beauty this unspoilt island paradise. Whatever you choose to do, your time at Yemaya Reefs will be unforgettable. Welcome to paradise!

Romantic destination

Reviewed By fdmdr994

My husband and I stayed at Yemaya for our wedding anniversary. The place is beautiful as it is but the customer service made it extra special for us!! I highly recommend Yemaya as a romantic destination, it truly wont disappoint you. Ps, ask Concierge to arrive/leave in the white Yemaya boat (6 seats). It is worth the extra few bucks if you get nauseous easily or if your stomach is not used to bumpy rides of 45m+!

Paradise

Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Good nutritious, fresh meals at reasonable price. Fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast included in room price. Delicious lobster and shrimp meals. Excellent New York strip steak dinner. Beautiful well kept grounds. Crystal clean swimming pool with access to the ocean. Unfortunately no beach however other beaches were a short walk nearby or by taxi for $.75 cents to other side of island. Nice freshly painted room, A/C, hot water and comfortable king size bed. Highly recommend.

Paraiso Beach Hotel

Paraiso Beach Hotel is a well known Corn Island resort, able to accommodate 40 people in 15 rooms, all decorated in traditional Nicaraguan style. They are made to make you feel right at home and all accommodations are about 70 to 120 meters from our beach. All rooms have hot water, AC, TV and super comfrotable beds. Right in front of Paraiso’s beach it’s very good snorkeling, even for beginners. The sunken ships provide shelter for many different species of reef fish. We organize regular snorkeling trips around Corn Island, to Little Corn Island or to the Pearl Keys. Yoga, cardio, fishing, golf cart tours, diving or biking are all options you might want to explore. Our on-site restaurant “The Buccaneer” offers great fresh food and lobster, shrimp or fish are of course a big part of the menu. We are looking forward to welcome you to undiscovered Corn Island! The owners, Mike and Ton

Nice place to stay and decent restaurant

Reviewed By Emily H

Rooms were nice but tons of tiny ants. Hotel provided spray to help kill them. Took a while for the hot water to be turned on (several requests). Beds were hard. The beach is across the road and has a small reef so you can't really wade in the ocean. Whole hotel was cute, with every two rooms having their own little hut. Rooms were quiet. Restaurant had good food but small menu compared to other places on the island. Food took forever to get after ordering.

Hotel Las Palmeras

Las Palmares is a hidden tropical oasis on Little Corn reachable only by boat. The hotel is situated inside a local neighborhood 500 meters from the wharf. The property is calm and peaceful; steps to the beach with plenty of outdoors hammocks, beach chairs, & palm trees, We have 8 rooms that were recently upgraded, bright & spacious; Some with queen beds & some with double beds & full bathroom. All our rooms have walk out terrace with rocking chairs for you to enjoy. We offer some rooms with AC and some with fans and natural air! Staying at Las Palmares will offer you the real local experience as you walk by the school into the local neighborhood; steps to local shops, food markets, and freshly-baked goodies. You can’t miss the bright pink building as you arrive. This neighborhood is probably the most interesting neighborhood on Little Corn. You will experience real life on the island, meet friendly local families, and appreciate the simplicity of their every day life. You will see kids chasing chickens & playing in the mud; if you are lucky, you might get the occasional hug once you get to know them! There is a Church near by and a local bar with a dance floor right on the water and pool tables. You will see people hanging out, playing cards and dancing. On the weekends, you can hear the occasional music from both the church and the bar while at the hotel mainly on the weekends. Little Corn Island is a back to basic type of island, it attracts nature lovers, yogis, divers, sea food lovers, and backpackers. You will not find any motorized vehicles on Little Corn (besides the boats of course), expect to walk every where & explore the hidden secluded beaches. You will need to bring cash as there is no ATM on the island. If you need to use your Credit Card, expect a convenience fee of at least 10%. Come prepared to relax and chill out.

Best place to stay on the island!

Best place to stay! I’ve stayed in multiple places around the island but this is my favorite (ended up staying for 3 weeks). The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and familiar. The owners are professional and welcoming. Aida is an absolute gem and makes you feel at home right away. I felt safe and looked after, they truly care. My room was very colorful and ‘homey’. The outside area is large with lots of hammocks and both places with shade and sun. Food is delicious too. There is direct beach access. You don’t need to dive to have a great stay here. I’ve truly felt at home!

Unbelievable!

Im home and I already miss LCBB. The view from our bungalow was a daily delight. Ocean waves, sunrises, lovely sand and the ocean breezes reached our bedrooms. We were greeted each morning by fresh juice and coffee. The ocean- warm and calm- was steps away.Off to breakfast, I had the best French toast of my life together with the banana pancakes- fantastic. I was in the water multiple times a day with naps and movies on our iPad in between. Scott the owner has done an extraordinary job.he service was outstanding. Every need was anticipated. Shira and Saida were amazing. When we were in the beach loungers, Saida would pop up out of nowhere and offer drinks. Shira was continually helping us in everyway. The other staff were super friendly- from the beach smoothers to the security guard. I cant overemphasize how incredible the staff was. It was pampering plus. And it was a truly beautiful resort.Everything is in USD. Palm trees had been carefully organized and it was bliss to sit on the porch looking at the trees, hear the birds and look again at the ocean Its hasn't been discovered yet. World travelers backpacking come to this island. Lots of interesting conversations. You do have to take a couple flights and a boat. It is 100% worth it. The power is off for a few hours. And the village that you get to through the jungle-isnt much. But so what...the warmth and beauty of LCIBB will completely make up for it. Go to Little Corn Island before it becomes really discovered.. You will not regret it.

The staff makes the place heads above the rest. The island is beautiful and the resort property is nice but the service is the best. The night bartender is awesome and makes the best Mojitos on the island. The day staff on the beach is super fun and covers your ever need. This is a must stay location.

Great stay, clean and cozy, all rooms are a couple steps from the beach. Alessandro and Constanza are great and always willing to help us around. The food at their restaurant is amazing, I had the best octopus alla Luciana I’ve ever tried.
