Musket Cove Holiday

Reviewed By LindaC11

After over 2 years being unable to travel to Fiji, we were thrilled to be back. We had never stayed at Musket Cove but had always wanted to. Disembarking from the Malolo Cat, we were welcomed with beautiful voices. Check in went smoothly and we were shown to our beachfront bure. The bure was spacious and well appointed and so close to the sea. The service we got from staff was excellent. They we so friendly and helpful and really looked after us. Some notable people were Lice, Job and all the restaurant staff. The reception staff were amazing and really helpful and professional. But the most outstanding was housekeeping. They cleaned our room in the mornings which we requested every day as we like to nap in the afternoon. Our lady Rosa was lovely and did such an excellent job. The staff made the holiday for us, they are your treasures, look after them well. The food was plentiful and well done. We also enjoyed the BBQ's at the Island Bar and it was a pleasant place to get a shandy or two during the day. The café was wonderful and again the staff were lovely, they did the best ice coffee and also lemon squash which was an excellent thirst quencher. We ate our lunches there and loved the environment. We are both in our late 60's and comfort is paramount in any trip for us. We have been coming to Fiji since 2012 and have been over 15 times so know what we like. Our 11 days were the best we've had on a Fiji island for a long while. Thank you Musket Cove.

Everything is absolutely incredible at this Resort. From the moment you arrive by Heli (highly recommend Helicoptering there) to the time you leave is just wonderful. The rooms are gorgeous and private we love the outside shower! The gardens are lush and well manicured. The spa is so beautiful, having a massage everyday is pure luxury. The food at the resort is amazing and there is plenty to choose from including healthy options if you desire. Cocktails were made with love and tasted so good. Cocktails at sunset is so beautiful especially with live music from the Boys made this a very romantic time of the day!!. This was our 9th trip to this true Fijian paradise. Could not fault anything. We highly recommend a visit.

Disappointing stay

Reviewed By Berecca01

We were really disappointed and were hoping after 2 years of being closed things would have been tidied up and have improved. So many empty buildings and areas. We stayed 4 nights, most days they ran out of beer, lemonade, ice cream, bananas (no smoothies) the wifi didn’t work, Bula bikes and the spa were fully booked for the week, we had no house keeping in the time we were there and no clean towels (bath and beach) over the 4 nights. The inflatables are all perished with broken parts and my kids (7 and 9 didn’t feel safe or enjoy them) Tractors driving past in the morning from 6am, everything is really tired and run down. Food very average, Such a shame, I considered not writing the review but wish I had been more aware before we came so I didn’t feel so let down when we arrived. We booked a beach front Bure, the rooms are stuffy and hot with noisy fans and the air conditioning unit right outside your bedroom (with slat windows so you hear everything outside!) Didn’t have the super friendly fiji hospitality either. Staff said they’d book our dinner for us on our behalf twice and both times it wasn’t done. We had 4 nights prior in Denerau and just wish we’d stayed there and done a snorkel day trip instead. The positives were the Malolo Cat transfers were easy and reliable, and the snorkeling around the front wharf is great, there are enough pools that they weren’t very busy but there is no pool drink/food service.

Stunning views, great staff, amazing recreation-activities staff, incredible bures!

This is the best locally-owned resort in Fiji. Booked one of their over-water bures. It had a living room with a glass-bottom floor, Champaign, friendly and wonderfully accommodating staff amazing recreational opportunities (island-hopping, snorkeling, diving, sunset cruises, inland hiking excursions, cultural activities... Look, I could go on all day but here's the bottom line: We stayed in one of the most gorgeous places I've ever been (and I've traveled the globe). The staff bent over backwards to make our stay awesome. We explored the Mamanuca group of islands (by air, land and sea) in comfort. It was so amazing it bordered on the surreal - it was THAT GOOD!!!

Thank you so much to Henry and the staff for making our holiday amazing! We were lucky enough to spend 5 days in paradise and have nothing but good things to say. From the lush sand and blue beaches to the facilities it was all great! So good to see the island as it starts coming back to life post covid! You can tell just how much it means to the team and is translated into the overwhelmingly good service from them. Rooms were modern and beautifully kept each day and nicely air conditioned for when you need a breather from the lush Fijian sun! Vinaka!

We had 6 nights in a pool villa - right on the beach. Large spacious rooms and deck with daybed and plunge pool. Couldn’t fault much about the place. Relaxing great main pool. You felt like there were only a few guests around.only negatives - not much really - tidal beach and the service a little slow - think they were short staffed (not just Fiji time) Loved every minute. Our honeymoon was postponed twice and after the second time we had to change destination. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because we ended up at Tropica. The staff at Tropica make you feel like you're part of the family. They remember your names and greet you every time they see you. You can tell that they're genuinely grateful that you're there and they'll do everything in their power to make your trip as memorable as possible. They amenities are fantastic, the bures are cozy, big comfortable bed, plenty of space to unwind, and a deck with a breathtaking view. All of the food at the restaurant is fantastic as well, from breakfast to dessert after dinner and everything in between. The activities are top notch and are worth doing every one of them; snorkeling, kayaking, coconut husking, basket weaving, Fijian language, they're all incredibly fun and add to the experience. My wife and I were never really ones to want to visit the same place twice but Tropica made itself an exception to that, we fully plan on returning and seeing everyone in our extended family again.

What do you expect for this price?? Well actually a lot!! This no 5 star resort with a 5 star price tag, this is just a well maintained cheap resort that provides everything you need... seriously nothing is wanted. Rooms are clean and well maintained, you get a bed (a little hard for my liking) a fridge/tea/coffee/jug. Best of all an outdoor shower!! ceiling fan no aircon, but we are under trees so is cool enough Restaurant/Bar/Pool are very good. Clean and maintained. Staff are super friendly, Tumeli manager really makes you feel welcomed and food is amazing (Thanks to Max) Best of all is the view ... volumes could be written... this is truly the heart of this place!!! not a 5 star resort but has 5+ star beach and ocean views. Truly hidden gem ?
