Romantic destination

My husband and I stayed at Yemaya for our wedding anniversary. The place is beautiful as it is but the customer service made it extra special for us!! I highly recommend Yemaya as a romantic destination, it truly wont disappoint you. Ps, ask Concierge to arrive/leave in the white Yemaya boat (6 seats). It is worth the extra few bucks if you get nauseous easily or if your stomach is not used to bumpy rides of 45m+!

Staff were very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Good nutritious, fresh meals at reasonable price. Fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast included in room price. Delicious lobster and shrimp meals. Excellent New York strip steak dinner. Beautiful well kept grounds. Crystal clean swimming pool with access to the ocean. Unfortunately no beach however other beaches were a short walk nearby or by taxi for $.75 cents to other side of island. Nice freshly painted room, A/C, hot water and comfortable king size bed. Highly recommend.

Paraiso Beach Hotel

Paraiso Beach Hotel is a well known Corn Island resort, able to accommodate 40 people in 15 rooms, all decorated in traditional Nicaraguan style. They are made to make you feel right at home and all accommodations are about 70 to 120 meters from our beach. All rooms have hot water, AC, TV and super comfrotable beds. Right in front of Paraiso’s beach it’s very good snorkeling, even for beginners. The sunken ships provide shelter for many different species of reef fish. We organize regular snorkeling trips around Corn Island, to Little Corn Island or to the Pearl Keys. Yoga, cardio, fishing, golf cart tours, diving or biking are all options you might want to explore. Our on-site restaurant “The Buccaneer” offers great fresh food and lobster, shrimp or fish are of course a big part of the menu. We are looking forward to welcome you to undiscovered Corn Island! Nice place to stay and decent restaurant

Rooms were nice but tons of tiny ants. Hotel provided spray to help kill them. Took a while for the hot water to be turned on (several requests). Beds were hard. The beach is across the road and has a small reef so you can't really wade in the ocean. Whole hotel was cute, with every two rooms having their own little hut. Rooms were quiet. Restaurant had good food but small menu compared to other places on the island. Food took forever to get after ordering.

Hotel Las Palmeras

Las Palmares is a hidden tropical oasis on Little Corn reachable only by boat. The hotel is situated inside a local neighborhood 500 meters from the wharf. The property is calm and peaceful; steps to the beach with plenty of outdoors hammocks, beach chairs, & palm trees, We have 8 rooms that were recently upgraded, bright & spacious; Some with queen beds & some with double beds & full bathroom. All our rooms have walk out terrace with rocking chairs for you to enjoy. We offer some rooms with AC and some with fans and natural air! Staying at Las Palmares will offer you the real local experience as you walk by the school into the local neighborhood; steps to local shops, food markets, and freshly-baked goodies. You can’t miss the bright pink building as you arrive. This neighborhood is probably the most interesting neighborhood on Little Corn. You will experience real life on the island, meet friendly local families, and appreciate the simplicity of their every day life. You will see kids chasing chickens & playing in the mud; if you are lucky, you might get the occasional hug once you get to know them! There is a Church near by and a local bar with a dance floor right on the water and pool tables. You will see people hanging out, playing cards and dancing. On the weekends, you can hear the occasional music from both the church and the bar while at the hotel mainly on the weekends. Little Corn Island is a back to basic type of island, it attracts nature lovers, yogis, divers, sea food lovers, and backpackers. You will not find any motorized vehicles on Little Corn (besides the boats of course), expect to walk every where & explore the hidden secluded beaches. You will need to bring cash as there is no ATM on the island. If you need to use your Credit Card, expect a convenience fee of at least 10%. Come prepared to relax and chill out.

Best place to stay on the island!

Best place to stay! I’ve stayed in multiple places around the island but this is my favorite (ended up staying for 3 weeks). The atmosphere is very relaxed, friendly and familiar. The owners are professional and welcoming. Aida is an absolute gem and makes you feel at home right away. I felt safe and looked after, they truly care. My room was very colorful and ‘homey’. The outside area is large with lots of hammocks and both places with shade and sun. Food is delicious too. There is direct beach access. You don’t need to dive to have a great stay here. I’ve truly felt at home!

Disappointing

Reviewed By Cinnamonpancake

We recently visited Seaview and found the room overpriced for what it was. To make matters worse we especially splashed out on a private room with en-suite (where we’d normally stay in dorms) but were never able to use our shower because the room (not the property or island) had run out of water. So it was very unromantic having to leave the room to get a bucket of water to wash down the toilet. When we asked for compensation - the owner would not budge - not even for $2 when I tried to round it down. We also saw the poor puppy chained up (mentioned in another review) - but did not spend much time here so can’t say for how long it was chained up and I sadly only read that review now - else I would have never supported a place that is cruel to animals. On the plus side, the accommodation is really close to the main ferry so the location is good. And it does have some lovely views. It feels safe and before we had the water altercation - everyone was really friendly - I just think they need to make a way to compensate for water shortages.

Wonderfully Welcoming!

Reviewed By Dos T

I stayed at Villy's for 10 nights and it was amazing. I got back one evening and Vilma had even cooked me Rundown (sp?). Vilma and Errol are so welcoming and make you feel like a part of the family. Excellent location within walking distance to some of the best restaurants on the island and Dos Tiburones Dive Shop. They have a beautiful garden and share with all of the guests. If you are coming to Big Corn check it out!
