Reviewed By william eThis hotel on the north edge of the Harz Mountains was a very good base for visiting these hills and a number of historic towns in the area like Goslar, Halberstadt, Gernrode and Quedlinburg. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, good bathroom. Good WIFI. And the hotel restaurant was very good. Breakfast was simple but with good espresso coffee (which however they charged for). And dinner on a number of nights was very good. Thoughtful well prepared dishes. A negative was the smoking. Our room overlooked the terrace outside the dining room and people smoked here, forcing us inside and to shut door / windows.

Reviewed By javierorzaizThe hotel where they have treated me the worst in my life. the reception staff humiliates you, they make fun of you and when you present a complaint, nobody gives the face. Not an explanation, not an apology. Nothing, one month after. They humiliate you even more. I have more than 560 hotel and restaurant opinions from all over Europe in Tripadvisor, and they have never treated me so badly. I'll never return.

Only tried the restaurant - very good
Reviewed By ScottjuWe were staying elsewhere in town but we tried the Vis-a-Vis restaurant and went back a further 2 times - it was very good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the background music is not intrusive. The service was efficient and discreet and the food was good and good value. Definitely give it a try if you are staying locally.

Reviewed By Piotr5It's a nice little place with beautiful view on Harz mountains. The room and the bathroom were clean and comfortable. Simple and but good breakfast. There is a restaurant inside with good local food. Free WiFi (slow). + Really nice service!!!! Reasonable prices of rooms and meals - No payment with the card (except EC), instant coffee for the breakfast (personally, I like to start my day with cup of a good fresh coffee).

Reviewed By Salontourer2008Wir waren zu privaten Einladungsterminen im Ostharz und wählten bewusst diese preiswerte Unterkunft, für mehrere ÜN im Standard DZ mit ÜN/F/DU/WC, in der „Blütenstadt“ Blankenburg/Harz. Die Navi-Anreise kann u.U. über eine Einbahnstraße in falscher Richtung (Dunkelheit!!) führen. Das Objekt, von außen ein unspektakuläreres älteres 1-geschossiges Bauwerk , in peripherer Stadtrandlage (ca. 800 m zur Altstadt). Die Eincheckzeiten richten sich nach den Öffnungszeiten des Restaurants von 16:00-21:00 Uhr, individuelle Vorabsprachen (Zugang zum kostenlosen Parkplatz usw.) sind ratsam. Man wird sehr freundlich, offen und unkompliziert im Gastraum an der Theke (Kurtaxe Sofortkasse) empfangen. Die Gästezimmer und der Frühstücksraum befinden sich im 1. OG. Das Zimmer ist nicht groß, aber für Kurzaufenthalte mit Garderobe/Kleiderschrank, völlig ausreichend. Dazu ist das Duschbad im Verhältnis ziemlich geräumig. Hier fällt jedem erfahrenen Gast sofort auf, dass der Raum/das alte Mobiliar (Duschkabine!!) gewissenhaft/tiefgründig, mit manuellem Aufwand, regelmäßig gereinigt wird. Dieser sehr gute Eindruck setzt sich in allen von uns betretenen Räumen fort. Es werden hier wohl selbst die Anschläge /Dichtungen der jahrzehntealten Türen im Haus noch geputzt, bei solch alten Objekten sicher ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Einzig die geschosshohe Rankpflanze im Treppenaufgang sollte mal mit einer Hebebühne gereinigt werden. Unser Zimmer mit Terrasse liegt Richtung Osten (Sportstadion /Westerhausen). Leider nutzen die Terrasse auch Andere (Gäste; Servicepersonal , Rettungsweg-Vorschriften?). Da fliegen schon mal die Stühle, wenn jemand eilig durch will. Allerdings kann man ja auch die Vorhänge vor der Terrassentür zuziehen, um ungestört zu sein. Das einfach eingerichtete kleine Restaurant im EG (Gemütlichkeit unter ..10 .."lach"), ist mit einem ständig laufenden TV (an der Decke), natürlich mit Sportsendungen, ausgerüstet. Kleine Speisekarten (2) weisen je auf kleine Menüs bis ca. 6 € (!) und eine auf mittlere Menüs bis ca. 11 € (!) hin. Restaurants in der Altstadt können fußläufig mit Abkürzung und mit angenehmer Streckenführung durch den Thie-Park erreicht werden. Der Frühstücksraum ist angenehm, gemütlich (2er/4er Tische mit Tischdecke) eingerichtet, Buffet wie wir die üblichen „Guten“ kennen. Das Haus war fast voll, aber Frühstücksgäste am Mo- früh sicher eine Ausnahme. Da hat man mit uns nicht mehr gerechnet. Rein rechnerisch sind 3 Brötchen, 3 Wurstscheiben und kein Apfel (Butter; Marmelade usw. ok) für 2 Rentner eigentlich auch ausreichend ..."lach". Fazit: Ein „Sportforum“ mit einem kleinen Hotelbetrieb, mit weniger „Charme“, mittlerem „Wohlfühlfaktor“ aber einem top Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Bei einem Preis für o.g. Zimmer von 65 € (+5 € Taxe) pro Nacht, kommt vielleicht noch etwas „Charme“ hinzu? Wenn wir in den Harz fahren und die Situation hier so bleibt, übernachten wir nur noch in diesem Objekt und dann legen wir noch eine zusätzliche „Kür- ÜN“ für diese sehr schöne Kleinstadt drauf.

Reviewed By Wanderprinz-JonaMein Enkel ( 7 J.) und ich haben in Blankenburg einen schönen Wanderurlaub verbracht. Die Pension am Kurpark haben wir alles äußerst Gäste- und kinderfreundlich erlebt. Obwohl ein Doppelzimmer gebucht, gab man uns ein Appartement und so hatten wir mehr Platz. Das Frühstück ließ auch kaum Wünsche aufkommen, jeden Tag viel Auswahl am frischem Obst, Gemüse und Aufschnitt.Das Personal war immer ansprechbar und freundlich. Für uns die beste Adresse in Blankenburg.Wir werden die Pension mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen. Übrigens ist die Umgebung um Blankenbugr für einen Wanderurlaub mit Kindern nur zu Empfehlen.
