Im tropischen Garten befindet sich das beliebte Ayurdeda Center mit eigenem Vital-Restaurant und ECO-Chalets. Weiter bietet das Ypsylon ein à la carte Restaurant mit nationalen und internationalen Speisen, einen Privatstrand, ein Beach-Volleyballplatz und eine eigene Schiffsflotte. Umgeben von exotischem Grün ist unser Süßwasser-Pool eingebettet. Das Ypsylon Resort ist ein unter Deutscher Leitung geführtes Familienunternehmen und wurde bereits 1980 vom heutigen Eigentümer eröffnet.
Disappointing
Reviewed By vaska_yI spent 18 days at Ypsylon in Jan 2022 for an Ayurvedic treatment package and cannot recommend it for that or any other purpose. While the hotel does have a direct beachfront location, the sea itself is so polluted that, although a dedicated water baby all my life, I was able to swim in it no more than 3-4 times in almost three weeks. It's restaurant offers both local and tasty, regular European/predominantly German dishes at reasonable prices. For those who've looking for ayurveda treatments, I would recommend to look elsewhere. Although Ypsylon's senior doctor is an excellent diagnostician, the treatments themselves are mediocre at best. For example, no serious ayurveda practitioner would prescribe 15-minute shirodhara sessions for insomnia or headaches (such short sessions can help with scalp problems and possibly to enhance hair growth, but they have NO other use in ayurveda), which is regularly done at Ypsylon. Worse yet, I personally observed the doctors there falsify medical records in order to conceal either a worsening medical condition or absence of progress. In my case, for instance, although I had arrived with a slightly elevated blood pressure of 135/90, as my blood pressure suddenly began to plummet while I was under their care, and to conceal that fact, they simply erased/whitened out the first reading, making it appear as though my blood pressure had been on the low side from the start. A similar alteration was made to my weight records, too. I don't know how likely it is that I was the only customer whose medical charts were treated in this way. Two more points: I found the food for ayurveda clients sub par, especially in comparison with the food in two other Ayurveda resorts I've been to in Sri Lanka. If you're a diabetic or have insulin resistance, the high amount of carbohydrates in the meals offered at Ypsylon will be directly counterproductive for you. My last point has to do with the rooms at this hotel: while the Ayurveda centre itself is constructed of natural materials throughout, the hotel rooms are not. I have a chronic health condition with many chemical and environmental sensitivities and was disappointed to discover that instead of wood or ceramic tile flooring, Ypsylon rooms all have laminate that only resembles wood in its appearance. I have not seen the use of such potentially toxic man-made materials at any other Ayurveda hotel I've been to (in India, Bali and Sri Lanka).

Интернет слабый, пользовались своим с телефона. Душ и туалет на каждом этаже, не в номере. До пляжа 5 минут пешком. От главной дороги далековато, нужно брать тук-тук.

Not worth for money
Reviewed By spremathilakewe visited the hotel recently. rooms were very good had good view and newly renovated. . but felt some invaluable for the money spent since the buffet was not good. hence there were only few varieties. not much desserts were available. only 3 or 4 items. staff not wear the mask. staff comes to rooms with dirty shoes.

It's located between Bentota and Beruwala very easier to reach both beaches well with in 5 minutes. I do pick up to both beaches free of charge. If you wish to stay with feel like home and relaxing your holiday this is the place for it. We have four luxurious room. ( two double rooms and two triple rooms) We do our best service all the time well. It's start in Ayurveda as well. The guests can get very good treatments with knowing well. I do organise all kind of things and tours in Sri Lanka. Thank you... We do our best hospitality to success your holiday come and joy. Thank you.

Relaxed hideaway
Reviewed By MichaSteinA place that is made with passion and love by Ruwan and his wife. After planning only a few days there, we spent two enjoyable weeks and came back later for another week! Apartments and rooms are very nice, comfortable and clean! Also the garden and pool area are well kept! There was always enough place on the pool/ sunbeds, even when the guesthouse was fully booked. Pool towels are offered by request. For breakfast we got various kind of sri lankan delicacies beside the usual eggs, toast/ butter/ jam and fruits. Ruwan is a good hoast. His first priority is to make his guests happy. He's even trying to protect you from moskito bites by bringing moskito coils in the evening time. If you miss anything on this place, Ruwan is trying to find a solution (for example a place to dry clothes) We enjoyed some good and also funny conversations. Also his staff is very friendly and always hard working. The Ayurveda treatments you can book additionally were very effective and we can highly recommend them!! We loved to stay there and hope to come back soon!

The price was right and the food from the restaurant was so yummy and and worth the money. I recommend 100%, this place for anyone looking for a place to stay. The beach was so walking distance. Execellent Food & beautiful place

The food was excellent and the staff is friendly starting from Shaymalee from reservations who took our booking & special thanks to chefs and restaurant staff who took care of my infant food requirements. We got a room in the 3rd floor with an ocean view. The pool is excellent. I will definitely visit again.

Reviewed By JMintThe hotel is really nice. You can sit and have a drink while watching the river traffic go by (just the occasional boat, bird, water monitor or in the evening a bat or two. The rooms were clean and spacious although the balcony could have been a little bigger but room for a table and 2 chairs. The stand out for us was the restaurant where the staff asked us during the day what we would like for dinner and when we said to them we would like some traditional Sri Lankan food they didn’t disappoint. If you go there ask for rice and curry - if possible ask at lunchtime so that they have the time to source all the ingredients they need as this is “off menu”. Thank you for making our stay so memorable and we’ll definitely be back for rice and curry and the fabulous rooftop restaurant.
