It was a nice experience, staff is friendly, it feels safe and clean. Beds a re comfortable but top bunker beds felt a bit unsafe and difficult to access. Shower are missing shelves/ hooks to hold personal effects dry (toiletries, towel, clothes). Should have water fountain at every floor.

Ok ok place to stay(for single room)

Reviewed By gpradeepshenoy

Bubble beds is about 3-5 minutes walking distance from exit of gate 9/10 of metro . If coming by bus Rash Behari Avenue crossing is the nearest bus stop . From rash Behari Avenue crossing also bubble beds is 5 minutes walk . Took a single room at bubble beds which costed Rs 1290(including taxes) for two days. The room is Very small but that's what such places are all about. The room has two fans and toilet is not there in room. The toilets which are common are maintained decently (but can be kept more clean). Geysers are there for hot bath. Did not use wifi there so no comments about it. Breakfast is included in cost and for breakfast they serve four breads(pineapple jam/mixed fruit jam/butter will be kept on the table) and one boiled egg (or one banana) and tea. Breakfast time is 8:15 am to 10:15 am. We can also cook in the kitchen. Kalighat temple will be about 15 minutes walk from bubble beds. This is a good place to socialize with others. As this place is near metro and bus stop traveling to different places in kolkata won't be an issue. Ok ok place to stay for those opting for single room in Kalighat area.

Ideal homestay away from home

Reviewed By Patilashok

For travelers( back packer, solo, out door activities etc) like us homestay is home away from home. The families manage these facilities have one thing in mind is passionate of so many things & provide best possible service with whatever they are managing, to strange families staying with them few nights & learn each other on culture, hobby etc. At Jessic homestay (humbly named after their sweet daughter) we stayed 3nights after our ultra trail run event(1st week May 2022) at Rimbik village. We were recommended to stay here by a sherpa familes, who most of the time at mountains guiding trekkers. We found this family (home stay management) is down to earth in meeting our expectations & made our stay comfort than our own home( rooms, food, travel guide , driver, vehicle etc, even familiarize with town market). Ideal for small/ big families, frds group . They have dormitories for budget travelers. Highly recommended to stay in this facility being family friendly & away from busy town.

The long and short of it...

I had been meaning to come to Rare Earth Homestay for some time now. A regular at the Wise Owl Cafe and Comfotel, I first spotted this glorious property on a photo frame inside the Cafe, enquired about it, got the details promptly from their managers and since then have been planning the trip in my head. Long story short, it turned out to be one of the most beautiful spaces I had ever visited, so close to my home and so soulfully managed. The food was excellent, the team that ran the home(stay) and hearth, were soft spoken yet alert to your needs and ready to pamper you sincerely. The birds and bees of their greenspace and the aesthetics of their living space would make every moment of your interlude worth a steal from the daily chaos and cacophony.

Youth Hostel Kolkata

Heaven for one and hell for another

Reviewed By arindam0289

This place took me by surprise. The pros balance out the cons of the place. It all depends on what is the purpose of your visit. Pros: Its quaint, super clean, and has all the basic necessities of a stay. The way they have maintained the plants there is commendable and a sight to behold. The place is almost too secure. The main gate is always locked and the staff retain the key. They sanitize you literally from top to bottom by a fogging machine (any bacteria or virus cannot survive that smoke - you yourself would barely be able to breathe properly for good 10 minutes after that fogging). They make you take off your shoes and keep it in a safe shoe rack and give you standby slippers while you are in the premises (which are the only allowed footwear inside). Staff is somewhat helpful (at least polite). Water, geyser, electricity, power backup, etc. are well in place. They are a bit flexible with check-out time too. Cons: Sooooo much paperwork (After a 3 hour flight I literally spent 25 minutes writing and filling forms before I could enter my room and lay down or even have some water). Your room key stays with the hostel staff when you want to go out and about (so security of my belongings was always a question lodged in my subconscious). Only 2 meals : breakfast and dinner are served and, although paid, are time bound - miss it or oversleep and Bam! you are fasting today!! The room I was staying in only had one power outlet point - the rooms have double occupancy and both people cannot charge or power 2 devices simultaneously. Also, its only 2 adults in a room and do not allow a third person even if you are ready to pay extra, unless its a kid for which ₹200 are charged extra per night. I have saved the best for the last. wait for it... YOU CANNOT ENTER THE PREMISES BETWEEN 10:30 pm and 6:00 am. I went there for a wedding and I was not well, so I had requested them to make an exception or at least let me enter a bit early in the morning (say 5:00 am) but a NO, CANT DO! was slapped on my face. So much for "Atithi Devo Bhava" I guess. So to sum up, if its for work or for simple staying in for the night, its a fine space. But if you are looking to have a bit of jolly time and are not a fan of strict schedules. Steer clear!

Amazing Doors tour with resort Pasakha

Reviewed By Parthadgp

We were in Dooars in February’2020 through our tour planner Sri Sanjit Ray, very nice person, and stayed one day at Resort Pasakha at Lataguri. Location of the Resort is absolutely awesome, situated by the side of a Tea Garden, charming sound of birds and other animals can hear from the resorts which cannot be expressed in words but to feels it in the depth of mind. We had been allotted first floor of the resort, from the verandah watching the green tea garden was an amazing experience and also very relaxing. The rooms were very spacious and very neat & cleaned. A well maintained property. Specially Manager Babu of the resort was very gentleman and helpful person. The food served at the Resort was very tasty and over all, absolute VALUE FOR MONEY. We would definitely recommend to others to stay here
