Perfect refuge on the Quilotoa Loop
Reviewed By esliceOur cabin, the hospitality and the food were truly beyond our expectations. We loved using our private balcony and fireplace and the views are stunning. It was one of the priciest things during our visit to Ecuador and zero regrets. We couldn’t dream up a better overnight while trekking the Quilotoa Loop (in fact we considered extending to two nights). Thanks Llullullama!

Best place to stay in Ecuador
Reviewed By 397allegralFrom the second we arrived at Rondedor guesthouse we felt at home and safe. It's the most wonderful, safe haven on the edge of the Cotopaxi national park. Ferdinado is the kindest host who organized a well priced taxi for us from Latacunga to the guesthouse. We had some of the best food we have eaten in Ecuador there (chicken curry, best potato soup, best hot chocolate, delicious pork chops, best breakfast) beside the cozy fire. The portions are huge and well priced. The garden has lamas which we were lucky enough to be able to feed. Their driver (Don Fransico) took us on 30 dollar tour to cotopaxi in the morning which was so worth it and even included a cozy lunch when we came back freezing afterwards. Ferdinando even played a concert for us in the evening and we all danced. They did our washing and made sure we had everything we needed. This was my favorite place to stay in Ecuador and I didn't want to leave. On the day we left we saw cotopaxi from the garden! Thank you Ferdinando and your family. Could not recommend this more highly!

Great hostel
Reviewed By Tom EWe visited on 30 May and where the only two tourists there! Odd situation but the hosts were very hospitable and friendly. Unfortunately our Spanish is not very good but they percievered with us and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms are all different and it is definitely worth upsizing to one of the larger rooms which are also a lot warmer and with a mountain view.

We have coated wooden rooms to isolate him cold, wooden beds with ample blankets, all Ecuadorians beds have good quality orthopedic mattresses. Rooms from 1 person up to 6 people per room together. All in an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility for a good rest.

The room and living room were absolutely spotless and it was a delight reading near the wood stove. The price included diner and breakfast which were substancial. Would recommend

Reviewed By tavoschinReally good hostel,. 10-15min walk from the centre and the bus station, but you can find everything you need nearby, supermarket, food and shops. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Eduardo Juan Carlos and the staff are really friendly and helpful and they make you feel part of a family. If you want to visit and climb the mountains around they are organizing tours for cheap prices. The breakfast is really good and the kitchen is well equipped! Rooftop with mountains view. I will Definitely be back! Gracias chicos!

We had the best meal of our trip at Hosteria Chukirawa after hiking part of the Quilotoa rim: fresh lamb stew, chicken stew, plantains, veggies, large jug of narajilla juice (our favorite) and canelazo (sweet hot alcoholic drink), all for $17.50! The service was efficient and kind; they even gifted us two little alpaca keychains. We did not see the rooms but saw many people checking in. Do give them a try for a meal!

Reviewed By T1234NLGood Hostal. Rooms are comfortable, with modern bathroom and hot shower. Good breakfast from 7-9 am. Friendly staff. Excellent and very fast laundry service. Hostal is located a bit outside the city center. It is possible to walk (20 minutes) or take a taxi ($1,50).

Great food for any acclimatisation

Would be a great hotel to acclimatise for anyone climbing Cotopaxi or surrounding peaks, at 4,200m its just about high enough as a base. For anyone doing a private tour in Cotopaxi National Park then this is a great place to eat.

Amazing time
Reviewed By alma141Owner and family were so friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my time there and highly recommend this place. The restaurant is clean and delicious and their backyard had a nice warm fire roaring every night. My bed was so cozy and we decided to extend our stay!
