Not worth the money or heartache
Reviewed By NBVofficialOur first impression of this hostel was a positive one. Staff were great, as was the room we were staying 3 nights and because it was nice we went to reception and booked 2 more nights. We had drinks at the rooftop bar and had a good chat with the guy who ran the bar. When the bar closed he filled 2 jugs up with beer for us to take away. On drinking it there seemed to be a wax residue on the too of the beer. Must have been from the jugs so i took them back. The guy started acting like a child, scooping out the beer on the tops of the jugs with a table spoon and sipping them saying there was nothing wrong. He eventually said he would give us 4 cans but i said 2 was fine thank you. Our stay went downhill from then on. We hung the “please clean out room” sign each day but no-one bothered, no coffee, no fresh towels or bedding, no toilet roll. The staff ignored us for 3 days. We got in from a day out on the third day and went to pay for the extra 2 days we booked but magically they were now already booked by someone else “a while ago” and the girl who runs the place wasn’t even bothered that we were now homeless at 11 the next morning. We even went back up to the rooftop bar that night for food. She was there all night sat with her back to us. All this for the price of 2 small beers which we were actually going to give him the money for the next day anyway because we felt bad. Quite ironic the way we were treat because they were having a staff meeting earlier that day and i heard the girl telling the staff they should interact with guests more, ask them how they are and try to help as much as possible. She thought she was Alan Sugar…. More like Verruca Salt. Never again….. Oh and the room (Private Room A) had an army of ants walking along behind the pillows and the room stank of sewerage every time someone from the dorms upstairs used the bathroom. Disgusting.

Here we will provide you with shared bathrooms with hot/cold water featuring also Khmer bath towels. From your private balcony and from all the rooms you can enjoy a beautiful rice field view. A fan and mosquito net are included as well. The Bat Cave in Phnom Sampue is 500m from our Home Stay. The famous Bamboo Train and Bannan Temple are approximately 9km from us and Psar Nar is 13km. You can use the bicycles for free. We offer complimentary pickup services from the bus and boat station.
Fantastic rural homestay very close to main attractions
Reviewed By JonasTokyoWe stayed one night with Saro and his family - lovely people, great food, superb service and a fantastic property that gives you a good insight into village life - dogs, cows, chicken, cats, frogs, crayfish, etc. etc. are all around you and our son absolutely loved it. The batcave is 5 minutes walk away and Saro took us on another tour up the mountain the next morning. Absolutely recommended if you want to see the real Cambodia.

Reviewed By micheleM9020KROur bus was supposed to arrive at 6.00 am in Battambang so we didn't plan to book a night for that same day. Instead we arrived at 3.30 am, so we were suddenly in the middle of the night in Battambang. We were lucky enough to find this place. The poor host woke up just for us and got us a room immediately. In a matter of 10 minutes we were already sleeping in our beds, they were our saviours! The room was big and clean, no frills but very comfortable. Definitely super value for money, and really, the hosts were super nice and helpful!

Ganesha is situated in the Hart of Battambang Town on the quiet traditional street 1.5! Close to the main Market. Attachted with restaurant and bar with pool table kicker table and boardgames. We have created a different special atmosphere for our Guest that you will not find very often in Cambodia! Our Rooms and Dorms are comfortable clean and well ventilated! Dorms are only for 5 people, 4 clean Bathroom for 10 people! Room's private bathroom! Cold at night! Sitting area on both floors! Ganesha is about meeting people and to exchange experience! Our goals are making Ganesha Guest more aware of the way they are travelling and to learn more about Cambodia. We are not running this guesthouse only to get positive reviews! If you like to learn more about Cambodia, have a new experience speak with people and get lost sometime in a beautiful countryside. Have a great anventure!!

Disappointing
Reviewed By lailbfeiretyAfter reading mainly good reviews we were looking forward to coming to this hotel. When we got into our room somebody was in there, only just finished cleaning it. There was only one towel so she chucked another one on the bed, which we later found out was dirty. We asked for another towel and this one also had stains on it so we didn’t use it. We had breakfast there the next morning (not included) the bread was stale & old and my boyfriend got a bad stomach from the egg which we think had been cooked at least the day before. We had laundry done here that came back DIRTY and still smelt (as we’d been in the sea a few days before In Sihanoukville so they smelt damp.) We booked a bus to Siem Reap for 9:30am. We were ready and waiting for the bus, when the girl at reception then informed us that the bus had been cancelled and we had to wait until 1:30pm STILL insisting we must check out the room at 12 even though we had nothing to do. Not even fully sure she booked the bus as she didn’t seem shocked when it got ‘cancelled.’ The only positive of this hotel is the cute dog at the door and the quite clean, cold rooms.

Beautiful cosy cabins made of bamboo and a lot of plants in between that create a really relaxing atmosphere. Fantastic common area for lunch and dinner where you can also enjoy a drink on an ammoch or have a chat with the friendly and kind owner Sarin. You should also try his cuisine, food is delicious!

Après notre réservation (40€/nuit pour deux), on nous a demandé d'ajouter encore 79€ pour le trajet en bateau jusqu'au village ainsi qu'un supplément pour le repas.. À se demander où va réellement l'argent. Au dernier moment, nous avons donc annulé cette nuitée qui devenait clairement hors budget pour nous.
