We had two amazing days with Michael. We did the kayaking on the Friday and hiking on the Saturday. Both were fantastic experiences. Michael was a superb guide and a really nice guy who my partner and I enjoyed spending time with. I would highly recommend. Michael knew a lot about the history of Paraty, the geography and the people. This made our holiday what it was.

Anderson really made this trip memorable. Thank you Anderson. The statue is dramatic. Must take a camera. The Pao de Acucar has newly been updated for tourism. This venue is worth seeing with Rio Carioca Tour LTD. Ask for Anderson for your guide. He is informative and thoughtful of the guests especially the older ones. Thank you so much.

Every last detail was perfect. There isn't anything we would do differently. Gus took care of every detail and we loved every second of our special day. Thanks to all of his hard work in making our wedding the best day of our lives, we will cherish our memories forever!

My wife and I just returned from our vacation in Brazil and are happy to share these comments with other travellers. We booked Be Free Tours for three days of private touring in the Rio area, blending together a few of their suggested itineraries. From the moment we were greeted at the airport by our guide, Marcelo G Elias, we knew we had made a good decision. His English was excellent, his manner relaxed, and we knew that we could adjust our plans on the fly if needed depending on weather and traffic. On the first morning we met a second guide, Rafael, and he and Marcelo worked together to show us the highlights of Rio. On the second day we all visited Petropolis and on our last day we did a walking tour of the downtown area followed by an interesting visit to one of the Samba Schools that was making their final preparations for Carnival. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Rio and the little local touches that can only happen with a private guide. Marcelo ensured that things went smoothly, paving the way by making lunch reservations and bypassing the crowds using local knowledge. We sampled local cuisine, fell in love with cinnamon flavoured Cappuccino, and appreciated the restaurant suggestions. Thanks to both Marcelo and Rafael for the wonderful experience.

I visited Brazil for 2 weeks and booked a bunch of stuff for my time there. This tour was incredible! We learned so much about the Christ Statue and the plants in the garden. I absolutely loved the stop at the market after the Christ Statue, the food tasted amazing. The waterfall shower was so refreshing and a great way to end such a great day. I highly recommend this tour

From here we'll hike up for 40 minutes among some of Rio's most stunning landscapes. The endpoint is worth the effort - as you arrive at the famous "Pedra do Telégrafo" where an incredible view awaits you! Challenging hike but well worth it! You will feel accomplished and the views are amazing. We booked the tour for 2 of us and selected hotel pick-up and drop-off. There was one other person on the tour and he met us at the site. Make sure to bring a backpack and water. There was one area were there was mineral water and we were able to top off our bottles. We come across a guy who makes the hike 3x/week with a backpack full of refreshments and otter pop style popsicles! We had cash and purchased açaí popsicles. Our guide Rafael was very knowledgable and made us feel comfortable. He carried all the gear since there was a portion that we used harnesses and rock climbed/rappelled. We had only done indoor rock climbing before and he talked us through the process and steps. Throughout the tour he guided us and told us exactly where to step on rougher areas and helped stabilize our feet as well. He made sure you went at your own pace and took breaks as needed. You can tell he is passionate and environmentally conscious. He also had tips on photo sites and took photos for us at the top and along the way. He was so great that we ended up adding on a canoe excursion with him (through the tour company) for that night!

There were many issues with this tour, but, the main issues were, in tripadvisor, it says the tour is in "English" there was zero English spoken on that tour. Also, I was under the impression that I was going to have time to snorkel (since I paid an extra 25R for the mask (which I was also told would only be 20R via text) but you spend more time fighting for a life jacket, then fighting for a spot on the motor boat then fighting for a spot back then you do in the water. All 3 beaches combimed were a total of 30 maybe 45 minutes, if you take away the time it takes to get to the actual water. I also did not feel safe, as I was dropped off about 2 blocks away from my hotel (which had previously been passed) and I am a single woman in a foreign country and did not feel safe, why couldn't I be dropped off in front of my hotel at night?
