10 Classes & Workshops in Geylang That You Shouldn't Miss

June 26, 2021 Margarita Chappel

The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Sugar & Spice Soap Crafting Classes

Learn how to craft your own natural soap in our 2-hour Soap Art Class. This class is simple yet informative and fun for all ages from children to adults! You will learn about how to make your own natural soap that you will bring home with you at the end of the class. SGD70/pax including hands-on experience to make 2 bars (100g each) of art soap with soap clay modelling techniques! If you love to make soap in an old-fashioned way, you can opt for our Cold Process (CP) Soap Making Workshop on the spot with an additional cost of SGD30/pax and make 500g of natural soap from scratch in 2 hours using high quality natural ingredients. CP soap requires at least 24 hours to harden. If time permits, you can come back few days later to cut, stamp and collect your soaps. Otherwise, doorstep delivery of soaps is available at a nominal cost. You can also choose to cure your soaps at home or in our studio. Minimum 6 weeks are required to cure a CP soap.

I do enjoy all the classes - Basic CP Soap Making, Advanced CP Soap Making and 3-in-1 Soap Soap Art Class. All the instructors are super nice & helpful. Nice to chat with everyone - Nora & Karene, & Terri to bring some local quick bits and tea to enjoy after all classes. It feels so pleasant to be having fun in classes with a home feeling environment. The safety precaution is well taking care of. And the instructor is very patience and skilful on the Soap Clay + Flower Confetti. The notes are well-prepared so I can DIY the soap back at home. They give us kind reminders to make sure we remember our schedule. Additionally, it feels so satisfactory to bring back the soap after all the work. Probably the only tiny little thing is that running out of choice in essential oil as everyone uses all the popular ones. I will be looking forward to sign-up for CP Soap Design Class & other craft classes with Sugar & Spices if I stop by Singapore again in the future. Definitely, strongly recommended and if it is based on 5 stars rating, I will rate more than 5 stars rating. Thank you for the fun and enjoyable time once again.????????????

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time at the custom bites. Especially not having much knowledge in baking cookies or decorating them, we did not know what to expect. But Lyn really made the whole class such a fun and joyful experience. She was extremely skilled and we learnt a lot from her. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to have a fun day session with friends/partners! Thank you once again Lyn :)
