The Room average clean (found some hairs), good view and quiet for the most. The price a bit stiff for the amenities the room has, but I can overcome this. The Staff at the reception placed us in a room where there was a construction and renovation going on. The staff tried to be accommodation to a point, but the staff does not speak English AT ALL. It was very frustrating to ask for directions, assistance of any kind and later when we showed our frustration the staff started to act weird around us. I find incredible that in South Korea's second biggest city, the staff at an International Hotel CANNOT Speak English. Additionally the hotel is placed in a building with several other hotels each one overtaking 2 or 3 floors. Therefore the waiting time in front of the elevators was exhausting. All in all a very bad experience and on top of that this hotel has no restaurant and hotel free private parking just does not exist. Highly disappointed as the staff neither said goodbye, no sorry, as if we were never there or our business was irrelevant.

Perfect Location and Spacious Room

Reviewed By Dew D

Booked a room with a double bed and was surprised that the room was very spacious, with a divider between the bathroom/closet area with the sleeping area. The room was very clean and well maintained despite showing some wear and tear signs of an old building. However, I was put in a third floor room where there was a huge balcony that connected through all the rooms on the side with no divider. The weather would have been perfect to open the slider door to let cool air in but being alone, I felt uncomfortable and unsafe leaving the slider door open with no lock on the screen door. The lady at the front desk who was probably the manger or owner was very accommodating and provided me with the air conditioner control, which they would only normally operate during summer. The bathroom tub also had no shower curtain so half the bathroom gets soaked when taking a shower. Other than that it was a great hotel and really enjoyed my stay, strategically located in the middle of Jeju City, right behind exit 1 of the underground mall and a few steps away from Black Pork Street. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area, so even if the hotel didn't provide breakfast, choices were plentiful. Also a few steps away from the hotel is a bus stop where you can take the city loop tour, which I regret not having time for though the underground mall connects to most of the important areas within the city.

The real strength of this hotel is the staff.

Reviewed By Bob R

We were fortunate to gain lodgings at the Winners after our original booking nearby was cancelled two days before we were due to arrive. There was always an English speaking member of staff on duty, all of whom went the extra mile to ensure that our arrangements were satisfactory, whether it was specific instructions to cab drivers, or attending and advising regarding any matter at all, however small. All in all, we had 9 family members, comprising 5 rooms, for varying lengths of stay during the Winter Olympics, and all were of the same opinion as we. The hotel is about 15 - 20 minutes by cab from Gangneung KTX station, right in the heart of Jumunjin fishing port, a rollicking, jumping, full on working town. Colourful shopping alleys, seafood markets, very affordable restaurants and bakeries should afford you enough, or as little of the local culture as you desire. Our room on the Harbour side, 7th floor at Winners Motel gave us excellent views of the lower end of the harbour, the breakwall, the lighthouse just to the north, and views of Jumunjin Beach and more, kilometres to the south. PROS: I found the Staff (all of them) to be as courteous and polite as you could wish, the neighbourhood and port was incredibly interesting to explore, the lodgings were as clean and comfortable as they could be. With our forced change of accommodation due to the other hotel not being completed, we saved about AUD 85 per day. BONUS!! CONS: Our room was small, which meant that we had to be a bit more organised in our habits. Not really a problem, character building. Very glad that fate brought us and the Winners together. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, functional room

Reviewed By May0145

Our room was a bit dark as the frosted window faced out to a wall but it had hall the things you need in a room and the bed was very comfortable. Wifi was good and AC worked fine, the AC remote is in korean but there are english translations on a poster in the elevator! The worst thing about the room was the the the toilet and shower are separate rooms so each have sliding doors that do not seal off most sound from the bed area and is actually pretty close to it because the room is small. Not a huge problem but should bear in mind. Staff at reception were helpful and spoke enough english. Laundry is available for free - you just put your own washing in the machine but there's no dryer. Okay location, 5 mins walking distance to beach. Overall good stay, loved the staff.
