Charming & Full of Character
Reviewed By pingishereI stayed for 2 nights in August 2018 and found the property to be charming and full of character. I paid around IDR 450000 per night which I find to be very good value for the quality of accommodation. The room is spacious & clean, the bed is very comfortable (they even have a bolster!). However, it was difficult to work the heater in the bathroom. You need to switch it on & off repeatedly for like 5 minutes before you get hot water and the water pressure is very low. The views from the restaurant and reception area is lovely. Breakfast comes with the room, It is not buffet style and you get to order one dish for breakfast. I tried the local options (Nasi Soto & Lontong) on both mornings. Although limited variety for breakfast, both dishes were delicious. One morning, I went for a hike on Mount Sibayak and came back only at 11am but they were still able to make arrangements for a late breakfast for me. The staff are friendly & attentive, they also made recommendations to my driver on where to visit in the surrounding area. The owners of the hotel also operate Cafe Jabu, the coffee there is very good and it's a great place to hangout and chill. If I ever return to Berastagi, I would very likely stay at this property again.

However the friendly owners make up for these defects, sharing their insights on the city and helping to plan your trip/activities. Location is great, both to visit the vulcano and to explore the city center, including the food markets.

Best place to stay in Berestagi
Reviewed By moq334We checked in at the same day in another hotel, which we left quickly. Luckily we found Sapo Karo, we went their to aski for a room and Erwin (Manager) and Adi helped us with their car to get our bags from the hotel where we run away from. We choosed Sapo Karo because they speak English and can Help with tours, Transfers and all questions coming up for travelers. We booked also the transfer to Kuala Namu Medan Airport, we had to leave at 4 in the morning but as promised everything went well. Rooms are clean, breakfast is done by ADIS wife which was great, we were treated like familymembers and had a really great time their!!!! Really recommendable!!!

Amazing Hotel!
Reviewed By bniemi03This hotel is beautiful, it feels like you are in a lush jungle, I like it much more than the modern luxury hotels that cost more and don't have nearly as much character. The staff was amazing, they were incredible helpful and kind. The breakfast and Cafe food was delicious and I loved the room and the price.

Friendly people, hot water, good matras

We got a room with a good bathroom (western style toilet, hot shower, rinsing tube next to the toilet, and a sink and mirror). The bed was comfortable and clean, from our window we could see the mountains. There was a table, two wall outlets, and a stainless steel dustbin, and some place to hang your clothes.

Reviewed By thwong70Clean and secure place. The place is comfortable and clean. There is a also a cafe which serves food should you decide not to eat elsewhere. The owner is a very friendly lady and is very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas.

Reviewed By akirawalk安いし、中心地にあるので何かと便利です。ロスメンは旅行会社の奥にあるとはいうものの大通りに面しているので、騒音が、深夜までかなりあります。 私は安い３階の屋上に設置された部屋に２泊しましたが ２泊目は部屋を変えてもらいました。それで少し眠られるようになりました。 シバヤッ山の手配も迅速です。 日本円からの両替もできますが レートはかなり悪いです。すぐ近くの銀行では日本円からの両替はできませんでした。

NO FUSS NO THRILL SIMPLE HOTEL
Reviewed By lawsonkohThe hotel ground is huge. There are green pasture everywhere. Everything here is huge. The room could easily accommodate two huge king size bed. A huge garden to stroll and enjoy a peaceful nature walk. It has a lot of potential and many room for improvement! It has actually a unused abandoned cottage with a big fire place outside, just imagine the buzz and fuzz and the lazy laying around on a bamboo chair admiring the moonlit night beside the fire place. The only slight complain is that the water from the shower head is slow.
