Archeological Site at St. Pierre's Cathedral

Reviewed By hh219 - Ann Arbor, United States

My husband and I really enjoyed this 18 stop audio tour of the crypt at St. Pierre. I think archaeology is interesting and loved the videos where the team talked some about how they excavated the site. A few of the stops were a little less engaging than others, but overall I liked learning about how the function of the site has changed over time and about how it influenced the development of Geneva.

Augusta Raurica

The Roman town only a stone’s throw from Basel in SwitzerlandAn outing for the whole family that offers much and costs little. The imposing Roman theatre, the authentic Roman villa, the mysterious well shaft, the biggest silver treasure of late antiquity, accessible sewer tunnels and the winsome animals in the animal park are only a few of the attractions that you should not miss.Off to roman times!

Reviewed By MFloyd84 - Sydney, Australia

The ruins are a short train ride from Basel SBB and then about a 15 min walk uphill to the entrance. The main part of the site around the theater has been really well preserved, and as you walk out to other parts of Augusta Raurica you pass through rolling fields of barley and poppy flowers where there are some smaller ruins including part of a small coliseum.
