The 3-star Superior Luther Hotel is located in the middle of the old town of Lutherstadt Wittenberg - one of the city's most famous landmarks. The name does not come from somewhere. Not only the proximity to Berlin makes the location so attractive for a short vacation and celebrations, also the great reformer Martin Luther worked and lived here, who in the year 1517 has fixed his 95 theses onto the Schlosskirche of the city. The cosiness of the city with all the many enchanting, owner-managed shops and the unique flair of the small alleys are wonderfully inviting for all those who want to get away from daily life or are simply in love with culture. The proximity to the capital Berlin also makes a long weekend trip very easy. The hotel is located a few blocks from the city center and in an area that has several boarded up large buildings if it truly is a diamond in a small coal field . Really modern reception area and very good bicycle storage in the underground parking area. The reception was very helpful and friendly . Room was large and comfortable. Bathroom very clean with multiple toiletries available. Only about 300m. to a wonderful Italian Restaurant , Trattoria Toscano for an excellent dinner. Breakfast at the hotel was very good with extensive food choices .

Reviewed By JJ MStayed here for one night on our anniversary trip and it was decent but KNOW SOME GERMAN BEFORE YOU COME we had some language barrier issues. We had been misdirected up 3 flights of stairs and down 2 to get to the reception. Once finally at reception, the front desk agent knew some English but not a lot. The room was tiny, basic, and had barely any heat. Additionally, we said anniversary trip and were given two separate twin beds.... that were not very comfortable and not very romantic. However, once your leave your room the courtyard and restaurant are beautifully decorated. You are located in the middle of town which is great for sightseeing. The restaurant is delicious and the beer is wonderful!! I would stay here again but I would make sure there isn't a miscommunication on sleeping arrangements. IF you do not do stairs well or cobblestones do not come!! No elevator and the main walkways are traditional cobblestones so wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers will have difficulty!

Reviewed By germanfanWelcome and Employees: Parking garage (10 Euros a day) is behind the hotel should be programmed in your GPS to easily find it. Check-in was okay, but not especially friendly. Proof of corona test was required. Staff in the kitchen was helpful Room and Facilities: Location was good – only a 8 – 10 minute walk to the market square and all other sights. Room was clean and modern. Breakfasts Standard breakfast with a decent choice of food of hot and cold foods and some limited fresh fruit Summary and Recommendation: A fair-value when staying in Wittenberg. The hotel and room is exactly what you expect – clean, relatively modern and meets a specific expectation. Wittenburg is a wonderful town to visit and explore – especially for history fans.

Reviewed By Hamlet8210I had a 20 sqm room in on the 1st floor in april 2018. Hotel and room were newly refurbished. Not exactly soundproof materials though, but on the other hand not very much noise! There is FREE PARKING 4-500 meters away (yes, there is also a parking house - but go to the parking lot by the new city council (Neues Rathaus) in Bürgermeisterstraße - you can leave the car for days on end (no signs to the contrary. I parked for a couple of days). Am Schwanenteich Pension is a great place to stay and to use as a base camp for exploring this Luther city!

Reviewed By JWB_DUSSuper zentral und doch ruhig gelegen, besser geht kaum. Durch den hauseigenen Parkplatz trotz der Innenstadtlage gut erreichbar. Das Gästehaus hat zwar nur sechs Zimmer, aber die sind individuell geschnitten und gut ausgestattet. Alles wirkt wertig und ist gut in Schuss. Netter Gastgeber, der bereits im Vorfeld des Besuchs Kontakt aufgenommen hat, damit alles reibungslos abgeht. Frühstück gibt es am Platz, kein Buffet, was uns gerade zu Corona-Zeiten gut gefallen hat. Preis-Leistung geht angesichts der gebotenen hochwertigen Einrichtung klar. Mal was anderes als das typische Stadthotel. Nicht so gefallen haben uns die schmale Flure, kein Aufzug, da kann es mit Gepäck schon mal eng werden. Filterkaffee war leider schon aus, vielleicht sollte man mal über einen Espresso-Automaten nachdenken. Ist aber alles kein wirkliches Problem, sondern allenfalls Jammern auf hohen Niveau.

fantastic small hotel in perfect location
Reviewed By Klaus LArriving after 10 pm my check in was a bit worrisome as the reception was closed during night. A short phone call ahead of time was necessary to organize everything and it worked perfect. Free parking next to an entrance. Clean, spacious room with a view to the local church (could not be better!). After an absolutely quiet night, there was a fantastic breakfast. Very friendly, helpful staff. I hope they have a room available next time I visit Wittenberg again!
