While visiting this ocean front town along the west coast of Sweden we walked the pier and selected Q Skar. It was a great choice. We all ordered fresh sea food including the flounder, mussels and shrimp. The quantities were large and the quality was excellent. Very much worth the stop!

Idas café och bistro ligger lite gömt i Grebbestad. Men väl värt att leta rätt på. I trädgården står borden lite här och där på bergknallen i trädgården. Maten är superb.Vällagad med tvist och suverän service.

We spent three days at a B&B near Grebbestad. The first evening the manager was kind enough to book a table for us at Grebys. We enjoyed a rich seafood plater and some local cider. There is nothing to complain about the meal except that you might go to the local seafood store (Grebbestad Skaldjur, Fisk & Delikatesser) and the nearby Coop to find the same for less. Exactly what we did the other night because we did not feel particularly welcome at Grebys. While at the seafood store, also try the smoked mackerels!

Stopped enroute from Gothenburg to Oslo. Town really busy on a sunny Saturday lunchtime. Restaurant is awAy from the main harbourside with outside tables under umbrellas.Simple menu - four dishes. Two fish, one meet, one vegetarian. Kids menu was meatballs. Help yourself to salad, bread, water and lemonade.Everyone's food excellent. My Coley absolutely perfectly seasoned and cooked.Help yourself to coffee and biscuits to follow.Loved it. Cheapest meal we ate in Sweden and maybe the best.

Very nicely located on the canal between Hamburgö and the mainland. They have an exiting menu with focus on sea food. Service is generally good but the quality of preparation of the food, sadly, varies. Best time to visit is out of the summer season May/June or late August.

On the opposite side of the road to the the sea, marina and jetties of this attractive little port and overlooking the town's poshest restaurant is this undistinguished restaurant/café. There are plenty of tables indoors but being 24°C in August we chose to sit outside, squeezed between the café wall and the narrow pavement and road traffic. Not what I'd call an over-attractive eatery. But the food was good - indeed surprisingly excellent and, for Sweden, remarkably good value. I was encouraged by our choice of restaurant by the number of locals filling the tables after we had sat down. I had a huge Caesar salad which was plentifully supplied with both chicken breast and crispy bacon, reasonable croutons, a tolerable amount of shaved parmisan cheese and all atop some strong Romaine leaves flavoured with a passable Caesar sauce. The sauce, I suspect from a catering bottle, lacked enough punch in the anchovy and garlic departments for my seasoned taste but it was quite acceptable and better than many I've had even in California, land of the Caesar. The "mini" hamburger of my companion turned out to be twice the size and five times the flavour of those from any yellow-arched hamburger chain and accompanied by plenty of super, properly-sized, perfectly-fried chips.Good value? Both dishes plus two glasses of light beer at £20. Not bad in such a yacht-laden seaside town.

Just so "off-season" as you can get Matilda gave us an experience we want forget. Great "tapas-like" scandinavian food and good wine brought us warmth in a bitterly cold Fjallbacka this evening. After a great meal we tasted really great swedish gin - and that concluded a great evening for us
