After many meals over the past years at LaVinia, we have never been disappointed. The food is delicious served with warmth and impeccable service. Paella, fish, and meat dishes do not disappoint. The tapas are typical of Spanish cuisine being flavorful and varied. Love the Iberico ham.

Madrina Bar y Tapas definitely serves very good food, nicely presented and tasting delicious. Our party of four followed the server's recommendation and we went for a tasting menu, 10 tapas. It gave us a lot of variety, which was nice. However the speed at which tapas were coming did not allow us to appreciate the food and have a conversation. When, after the 3rd serving we mentioned to the waiter that we would like to slow down, he kindly replied that he would pass our request to the chef. But it ended there; the pace did not change and we were feeling pushed around. You have to keep in mind that the tables are very small and if you pile thing up, it gets chaotic to the point you are almost scared to reach anything.The noise level, music and people talking, was also too high to have a pleasant dining experience; if you want to have a conversation, you need to scream.As someone else mentioned, this is a good restaurant for a pre or post dinner drink and tapas but if you hope for a good diner it might not be the best place. To sum up, it was very expensive for the experience.Lidia, thank you for following the server's recommendation! I'm disappointed to hear you felt rushed, this was not our intention. Beautiful day to indulge in a wonderful lunch, beat all expectations. A nice cava joined some prime jamon, great boquerones, tasty tinned scallops (forget the and fresh ones) and fried honey basted eggplant that was positively addictive.Sat out on the patio, and yes the place is small, seating a challenge, but everything worked for us, and we were delighted in every respect. OUTSTANDING!

The atmosphere and the service here are perfect; seamless table service from anyone passing. Very well coordinated. The tapas-style menu lends itself to chatting and munching and the food is sublime...nothing was less than excellent. Make sure to order the outstanding bread and the grilled mushrooms and greens. Each dish was better than the next. The "famous" Basque cake is utterly amazing, with a topping of heavy cream and sherry; ice cream bars are tiny and yummy but not much for the dedicated sweet lover.
