Please write your review under Cafeteria Antanos. The new owner is a "real chef" with a considerable amount of experience. They have very good food and service. They prices are also very reasonable. My wife and I had a very nice dinner with a craft beer for less than $30. Highly recommend this new restaurant.

El mérito de este lugar se puede resumir en un sólo plato: patatas bravas. Hay varios restaurantes españoles en San José, en su mayorÃa regentados por ciudadanos de ese paÃs, pero a la hora de las horas, el sabor parece ser no auténtico, el ejemplo más triste es la tradicional tapa de las patatas bravas, en donde en casi en todos los lugares no es más que un remedo de la receta original y en otros, un verdadero engaño. En Plaza España sà saben como a unas patatas de un verdadero mesón madrileño y la misma calificación se puede aplicar a otros platos tradicionales como los huevos rotos y la paella. El local merece mención aparte, una casona de adobes tÃpica escazuceña de esas que ya no quedan. La atención es buena e increÃblemente amistosa. Usualmente además hacen promociones muy atractivas, como degustaciones de vinos y tapas. Pero el menú es muy limitado y los precios relativamente altos.

Went here for after dinner coffe and drinks. It was a local experience. We were there on a sunday evening and not many people there, but it looks like it can hold a lot of people

A great out of the way restaurant situated off the main road thru town. The Venezuelan owners are very cordial and the food is a variety of Tico with a Venezuelan twist. The Fettuccine Alfredo con Pollo was delicious and the proportion large enough to take some home. Definitely a place I will revisit.Thank you very much for your kind comments. We saw this place when they were painting the outside and thought "Oh, that looks cute, but it is probably just another fried food place with chicken and fries!" So, one day, I picked up my oldest son and said "Let's check it out for a quick snack". Boy, were we surprised! This place has an incredible menu. Donovan the chef, is very talented and takes time to make sure each meal has flare and flavor. We have been back several times for the "Crazy Chalupa, which is a plantain with chicken, incredible slaw and pickled beets and carrots", we have had a taste of the "Hamburguesa de fajita de pollo", which was a chopped chicken hamburger. WE are gluten free, so we ate it on lettuce and we have also had twice now the "Linguinie en salsa Blanca" and "Penne vegetables", he served them both with GF pasta. I highly recommend this "GEM" for lunch or dinner. Crazy Snack 2444-1807. And they are open until 10pm.

The Chifrijo was one of the best I've had since moving to Costa Rica and the Ceviche is by far the Freshest and very well seasoned.The Chilled White Wine(s) Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay are Crisp and refreshing with either the Chifrijo or Ceviche.The monthly "Music Jam" is an absolute Hoot and Great Venue to meet ExPat's and Tico's alike...
