Bearna (anglicized as Barna) is a coastal village in Connemara, west of Galway city in County Galway, Ireland, on the R336 regional road. Once a satellite of Galway city, the village is now rapidly becoming one of its suburbs. Officially, the village is regarded as Irish speaking and is therefore a constituent part of the regions of Ireland that make up the Gaeltacht. However, because of its absorption into the city, it has recently become a mainly English speaking village. Nonetheless, Irish is still the main language of its western and northern hinterland and the village has now effectively become the gateway to the largest Irish speaking region in the country

I am a repeat customer of this restaurant and after a pre Christmas night out last year when we experienced poor service, I hastily wrote a review to complain..almost a year on and after several wonderful dining experiences since, I want to compliment all at BlackCat. The staff are superb and very attentive, food is just so delicious, gambas,Calamari, black pudding croquettes are amongst our favourites. Last night although very busy, the staff were on their toes and the buzz and atmosphere were just great...you could tell looking around that everyone was enjoying themselves. This is a cosy wonderful place and a must eat gourmet experience when in Galway...along with many locals you will see visitors from all over the globe. Special thanks to Mai and Esther....looking forward to returning soon.D&D Motley

I have been in cava several times and it never disappoints! Itâs such a nice cozy place and the food is gorgeous. I booked a table for 4 and we all shared few tapas, canât remember the name we had patatas brava, chickpea and chorizo stew, mix of crostini, prawns ... all was very good! Could not recommend a better place for a good glass of wine and nice food! Well done

Small little Latin Tapas Restaurant. Family run. Lovely staff. We had 4 dishes between two of us. We shared the octopus, duck skewers, garlic prawns and pratas bravas. My companion had the pineapple carpccio for desert and I had a mint tea. All declivous and very well priced.
