A bit far from the town centre, but an absolute gem of a restaurant!Seafood is king here, but it's hard to choose as all the dishes are tempting...We had fish carpaccios for starters, and then a shrimp risotto, which was devine, all washed down with a delicious locally produced organic white wine. The waiter was very friendly, and the restaurant was spacious and nicely decorated. An eating experience that we are not likely to forget! :)

We enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. The restaurant is located on the main road leaving the city. Youâll need a car to get here. Thereâs plenty of street parking in front. The restaurant was already crowded with Italians when we arrived just past noon. We didnât notice any other tourists except for us. Service was excellent from an English-speaking server. We ordered spaghetti vongole which was very tasty. It came al dente as expected. Our other dish was homemade pasta stuffed with spinach and ricotta in a pomodoro sauce. It too was excellent. The bread was chewy and the red house wine was very good. It's a modern restaurant with an upscale feel to it but the prices are very reasonable. After eating here, we're not surprised it was so busy. We can highly recommend eating here.

Tipical Italian cucine with local dishes and fish
We went to La Forchetta twice during our two night stay in Piacenza - not something we would normally do. The restaurant is in a quiet street near the centre of the city, and happened to be very near our hotel, Domus San Martino. Both evenings we were able to sit outside. Between five of us across the two nights, we had various dishes including a plate of mixed fish (moist and well cooked), tagliatelle with clams and artichoke (wonderful), herbed steak (one of the best we encountered this summer), an aubergine roulade which was more of a stack, but delicious nonetheless, sea bass and grilled vegetables. We didn't regret returning.

I have been here before and was very impressed for the innovative approach to the cuisine and ingredienst. I have been again for dinner on a very hot summer evening and tried the excellent culatello and pork shoulder from Massimo Spigaroli, the top producer of this cured meat. The portion was not generous, but after all these ingredients are expensive. I was then attracted by a slowly braised veal cheek, advertised 'with potatoes' and something else. The meat was succulent, very tender and excellent, but the 'potatoes' were reduced to a kind of whitish broth, not particularly tasty either. No other vegetable was visible. And this is, in my view a mistake. In fact when I asked for some vegetables I was told that the asparagus had passed its sell-by date and therefore had been condemned. Fair enough, but there are still plenty of good vegetables on the market, and a good restaurant should provide a good selection. The dessert was good, and the choice of wines reasonable (but more can be done in this department). To sum up, I was more impressed the first time, and one of my guests also enjoyed an aubergine flan very much, but I am a little concern that this pleace which has very good potential may be slackening.

I can recommend this restaurant to anybody. Food very tasty,we had a lobster there and it was very nice experience for me. We were there with our 2 small children, staff was very helpful and made a meal according to their wish. It is not cheap there but it is worth the money.

I was brought up to judge food by pasta yet here the 2nd dish, the pork (maiale), was above superb! The whole experience was superb thanks to Simone, the guy in charge. He welcomed me and endured my poor Italian and with an excitement unparalleled led me through a very memorable meal. Pear dessert was also fantastic. I've never done this before but I could be back tonight!!!
