I live in Istanbul so I wasn't visiting Basak as a tourist. We were a group of 6 work colleagues, hungry after a meeting. Yes, the décor and fluorescent bulbs are nothing special but the mezes were delicious, the sigara böreÄi hot and tasty, the tomato soup amazing and the portions of meat were ample and well cooked. Don't come for the atmosphere - come for the great food!

Park restaurant is in Heybeliada, - one of the princes islands of Istanbul. You may reach the island by liner ferries and sea bus ( katamaran ) - , and as soon as get off you meets many restaurants and coffee houses just at the seaside. Almost in each restaurant fishes, sea foods and appetizers , also raki, beers, wines etc are available.the Park is an old one, keep its traditional line, no compromise from that, a typical classic restaurant , more quiet than others, having garden and closed places, surrended also by a few trees and tents which gives coolness especially in summer day times .under strong sun shine. if the winds from north-east (poyraz) you are lucky.you may live with a good taste all wise, but not expect too much, however better than avarage.meantime please be noted that no motor vechiles are allowed in the isaland , instead you may use horse cars, and bycycles, and get some beaches also.

If you go to the island Heybeli do eat here. very nice seafood. great appetizers. you should eat the special stuffed artichokes. I really liked the taste and the beautiful location. I can go one more time.If you eat an appetizer, main dish, ask middle of the table. around $ 30 per person including beer .

Had lunch with a few plates of mezze, kalamari and fish. Each one was delicious, cooked, prepared and serves just the way it should be. Moderate price almost like the other neighbouring restaurants, very good service, clean, kind and as fast as it should be.

Many fish restaurants look alike in Istabul. As I was entering Mavi I did not expect to have a very special and delicious meal. They cook very interesting and tasty mezzes like mussels with saffrone, shrimp boerek and stuffed artichoke...Do not expect too much about the decoration or ambience and the service is friendly but just "ok". It is a very idyllic place away from the hassle of the city. It definitely is a local gem!

I went to Heyamola because it seemed like the most decent, family friendly restaurant. Even though there weren't too many people there, the food was very fresh. The mezzes are a must try.... beautiful! And the fish was good and very very fresh. The service was friendly and the bathrooms were clean. They had been sweet enough to even think of stocking hand cream and sanitary pads in the ladies' washroom! .... I was most pleasantly surprised. If I was ever in that island again, I'd definitely go there again

This is a delightful seaside restaurant in Princess Island. Being a vegetarian, I was wondering what would I be able to eat since most of the lunch seemed based on seafood.However, we were pleasantly surprised about the veggie options that were provided including pasta with tomato paste. It was bland but they made the effort to provide it. Hats off.Fish is stored in tanks outside the restaurant and customers can choose the one they want and its cooked.
