I happened to be in area, rain had started , so I thought , where can I find somewhere nice for a quick bowl of soup and get out of rain.Read very appealing tasting menu in window and went in.Iam SO glad I did. Very cheerful guy (Frank , I think was his name ) welcomed me, and told me to take a seat (anywhere I wanted,,,,, that alone was a plus point for me, as sometimes waiters do not give you a choice , despite if place is quiet or not)Menu , choices, and cost were all excellent. The soup I have to say, was delicious !!!! ...Borscht served with lovely whole meal , soft bread, soft butter( with fab sprinkled sea salt over it )I loved my visit here, and I cant wait to bring friends back with me the next time to try more of the offerings on the menu.In summary, a warm welcoming place, with great food and staff.!!!!.

Had heard rumours of the venue south of the river and eventually managed there for lunch - what a delight. The main menu is full of delightful choices for each course and the fresh seafood is the main draw. Fresh delicious seafood cooked and served by attentive staff. A return visit is a must and whilst the extensive wine list may appeal to some, their extensive selection of gins is also worth a look.

We have often driven past the Wee Lochan and commented that we must try it... and we did. We had a fabulous Friday evening there with our friends. Quite a small restaurant, it was lovely and cosy on a damp night. The staff were delightful, very welcoming and efficient, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The food was superb, a small menu but with a lot of choice! Cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The Cullen Skink was a very refined version, full of flavour. I then chose the Halloumi with Humous and Falafel, I real treat, so many tastes and textures...delicious. All of our diners enjoyed every morsel and the deserts were spectacular.Loved the pillar of forgotten reading glasses, this did make us smile. All in all a very comfortable restaurant, relaxed and so delicious, we will most certainly be back.
