Really good food, ales well kept, a beautiful building. We keep going back even though it's 3 miles away rather than our local which is less that 100 yards. We came with friends (who live in Norfolk) for an catch-up dinner and a very good evening meal it was. The welcome was very friendly and the atmosphere was good. The staff were efficient and helpful. There was a good choice on the menu. My wife is Gluten Free and her diet did not cause any problems. I had the pork, which I would certainly recommend. There was a good choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The cost was reasonable. I would certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a meal in the area.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Great location to visit the Norfolk coast, villages and National Trust Houses, plus Sandingham. The room was clean. great shower room. Also have Netflix and Spotify for entertainment in the room if needed. Staff are friendly and attentive. Excellent breakfast and dinners. If you stay at the back of the building - no traffic noise early morning. We had one evening meal here and the food was not bad although we had Asparagus with Salmon but they overcooked the Asparagus by quite a bit. Considering the price and portion size (very small vegetable dish between two) I would not go back again. Maybe it is better if you stay at the hotel ?.

Great evening, food was great and the service 1st class. Remember to bring a 50% discount voucher. Available in the tourist information centre at the green Hunstanton or in local free papers and magazines. We all left happy and well fed.

We visited yesterday and the only thing said to us was "seven pounds eighty". There was no hello, no thankyou and no goodbye! Needless to say but our pint and a half of cider and a packet of mini chedders will be the last things that we ever order here.It really doesn't cost anything to greet a customer in a polite fashion.I'm really disappointed, reading this review. This is a total failure on the part of the person who served you and I can only offer my most sincere apologies. I'm going to be messaging you privately, I really hope we can make this right by you.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, it WILL be rectified.

Occupying a convenient spot between Hunstanton and Heacham, the Honetstone looked promising. however, once inside, the sticky tables and tatty menus, gave a more realistic projection of what was to come.Food was mediocre to say the least, defrosted or otherwise reconstituted from its long-term storage without much care, to give bland meals and very mean portions. The prices, while not excessively high, meant this place was neither cheap nor cheerful. Waitress Zoe was the only saving grace, trying her very best to ensure we were looked after.

I have read the numerous very negative reviews here, and while I sympathise I can't agree. Ultimately it boils down to a mismatch between expectation and reality. This is clearly a great local, which looks beautiful and is well located hence gets plenty of tourist trade in the summer. I imagine business is much tougher going through the low season, yet the pub has to make it through. So it does the community stuff very well, but can't quite deliver on the menu it promises. My feeling is that the printed menu is the crux of the problem because it hints at gastropub levels of culinary excellence, when in fact it serves up (perfectly adequate) pub grub. We too experienced the very fast arrival of the food - the scampi was good but the lemon sole was dry and unseasoned, It's a style best described as homely. The food was generous and simple, but not skilfully prepared. It's what I would expect from a pub kitchen going full-tilt trying to satisfy everyone. I think the overly great variety of the menu (and its tone) don't help, and neither do the 1-star comments.I wouldn't travel here to eat, but I would eat here again. And, for good measure, I would drink here and relax any time.

The inside is very nicely decorated and a lot of thought has gone into this . Tables are nicely spaced out. Good menu with specials menu too. Staff are very helpful. Good size portions and prices are good value too.
