This new enterprise has received a lot of publicity, heralding its arrival, the high investment, and the quality of the food. However, it seems that Hunstanton is a highly competitive, and management must educate their staff to be at the top of their skills at every moment. The portions are not exactly generous for the high prices demanded (a few chips lining the bottom of the box), and the straightforward standard cod and chips seems no different to anywhere else, despite the graphic description of its procurement, and its cooking being hailed as extra special. I guess it will take a while for Henry's to find its feet, and also wish you well. I also look forward to something a bit better if I decide to call in when I'm next in town.Hi simplesouls,Thank you for your critique, and I take onboard your comments. However, I am very confused as to some of your comments. Our prices are in line with other fish and chip shops in the area. So cannot see where the âhigh pricesâ comment comes from. Where is our graphic description of procurement? Do you mean the boards telling customers where their fish and potatoes for their chips came from?? I wouldnât go so far to call these graphic. Where do we hail the cooking of our fish and chips as extra special??? There is no magic, itâs deep fried cod and chips, no illusion or extra claims. How could we claim that our cod and chips were any different to others, albeit cooked in beef dripping. You have also sent me a private message today saying that the server with facial piercings was slightly off putting. We categorically have no waiting staff with facial piercing in anyway, so Iâm a bit unsure if you have a) been in the building or b) confused us with another establishment. I have responded to your private message asking you if you have confused us with somewhere else. Please get back to via private message as I am very confused about your comments.Jane Wallis

I have read the numerous very negative reviews here, and while I sympathise I can't agree. Ultimately it boils down to a mismatch between expectation and reality. This is clearly a great local, which looks beautiful and is well located hence gets plenty of tourist trade in the summer. I imagine business is much tougher going through the low season, yet the pub has to make it through. So it does the community stuff very well, but can't quite deliver on the menu it promises. My feeling is that the printed menu is the crux of the problem because it hints at gastropub levels of culinary excellence, when in fact it serves up (perfectly adequate) pub grub. We too experienced the very fast arrival of the food - the scampi was good but the lemon sole was dry and unseasoned, It's a style best described as homely. The food was generous and simple, but not skilfully prepared. It's what I would expect from a pub kitchen going full-tilt trying to satisfy everyone. I think the overly great variety of the menu (and its tone) don't help, and neither do the 1-star comments.I wouldn't travel here to eat, but I would eat here again. And, for good measure, I would drink here and relax any time.

Our B&B recommended Chives, and I'm glad they did. The service was excellent, as was the food...goats' cheese and walnut arancini, followed by pork belly. Would certainly go again if in the area

The Lodge is open for lunch between noon and 2pm and for dinner between 6pm and 9pm Monday to Saturdays. Sundays and Bank Holidays we serve our full menu all day from 12noon until 8pm and in the Summer holidays we offer a reduced menu in the afternoons, M
The inside is very nicely decorated and a lot of thought has gone into this . Tables are nicely spaced out. Good menu with specials menu too. Staff are very helpful. Good size portions and prices are good value too.

I have given this restaurant a three star rating based not on the excellent quality of the fish and chips and excellent value for money but why oh why serve minted mushy peas with fish. For us it just doesnât work and confuses the taste buds. Rather more disappointingly you cannot get plain mushy peas even if you ask.Thank you for your review and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the quality of our fish and chips and excellent value for money. We fully appreciate that some people like mushy peas minted - and some do not! We find the majority of people do - but will certainly put this to our kitchen team regarding an alternative - and do hope this won't put you off coming to see us again.

Open all day offering lunch & evening meals. With home made British cuisine and local seafood available.Great sea veiws.
Visited 21st sept, sat outside with 3 generations of our family in great weather. Food and service as always, was perfect. My elderly father had the Brancaster mussles, we were told they were the first of the season and he loved them. We had a mixture of meals, all were excellent . We always come to Goblins pantry and never leave dissapointed. Look forward to our next visit.

Open on Hunstanton High Street daily 9am-5pm. Extensive gluten-free menu.
Went for a day out to Hunstanton, got there early to have breakfast, one of the only places open on that Saturday 8AM was the CK. Lucky really because it was superb. We all had tea, really good, nicely served in pots for 2. There were 7 of us, even though small inside, couple of tables were put together for us and we had ample space. The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon was amazing, served with great quality and a generous quantity of smoked salmon. The jam was very enjoyable and those who had the full english thoroughly enjoyed theirs too. Would definitely recommend and visit again!

This restaurant has some rooms, and has a listing under B&Bs, but I feel should feature under restaurant section for Hunstanton - as that is its main strength and focus.
We had the good fortune to stay two nights here, eating here on our first night. This restaurant with rooms is charming and the owners are exceptionally welcoming. The food was delicious and well thought out. The scallop raviolo was a particular highlight. The wine list was comprehensive and fairly priced. Breakfast was well prepared and wholesome. Most importantly the food was super, and the whole stay was a treat. A must to return.

Having had cream teas, it was a matter of time before we tried their Sunday lunch. We booked the 2.00pm slot which was perfect for us and with the restaurant not quite full, we had a choice of tables. Despite the limited menu, the home cooking was Devine. Very well presented by the lovely Angie, who despite my best efforts refused to run away with me. Lovely food and lovely service.
