De Beleving is a cute and hip coffee cafe in the pretty town of Hulst. A lovely place to relax after exploring the fortifaction, church and windmill around the town. The coffee is excellent and served by the owner, a trained barista. De Beleving also serves a small but high quality lunch menu. The High Tea must be booked in advanced but is certainly worth the experience.

This bar appears to be seasonal and as it is a âpop-upâ bar, may not be available all year round. Id you are travelling outside of the summer season, then you may just find some benches rather than a bar. The prices are reasonable, however the same round cost us 3 different amounts (by a few euros) depending on which member of staff was serving us. We had some fries and chicken burgers which were very tasty - totally recommend the fries! The service was quick and friendly, the staff were chatty and helpful. You can expect beautiful views of the estuary, wind surfers and various ships sailing past whilst you visit the bar. It is located next to a patch of beach, has 2 car parks (one down the stairs and one you can drive up to the same level as the bar), portacabin style toilets and the tables/chairs are made from cable reels. Some tables have umbrellas & the glasses are plastic to avoid breakages. I believe the venue is open from 11:00 until 23:00, so you can either catch the rays or sunset depending on when you visit. There is also a DJ playing various tunes which seem to fit nicely with the beach bar vibe and certainly made for a nice evening. So glad we found this little gem of a bar - 10/10 would recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Voor weinig geld met zijn tweetjes Vlaamse stoverij met Belse frieten. Smaakte prima. Leuk in stoofpotjes geserveerd. Helaas niet de frites die ik verwachtte toen het menu Belse frites aankondigde. De frietjes waren lekker hoor, maar niet de verwachte Vlaamse grotere verse frieten. Maar dat was het enige. De huiswijn zowel de witte als de rode is heel lekker.
