Had food in the bar area as opposed to the restaurant. Was particularly difficult to get attention for some drinks firstly.Had to wait about 10 minutes at the bar for a drink. there were no other customers waiting at this point but an awful lot of paperwork been attended to behind the bar. There was another table at the bar who were paying for their bill x 4, and each were paying separately and this was causing quite an amount of confusion for staff with three ppl sorting it out.

We were driving across the country and needed a quick brunch midway, so we came off the motorway and found this place very easily. It's clean, has an extensive breakfast menu, the service is fast and friendly and the food is tasty. You can refill your tea/coffee from the machines at your disposal and the price is very reasonable. I'll remember this as a very good place to have a quick but decent meal. Also it is situated on what looks like one of the main streets of Carlow, a town I had never set foot in but which looks attractive and that I'd like to see more of.

Unfortunately I would not recommend. Attended as a guest of wedding recently. Stayed overnight in one of the house rooms. Whilst the building is impressive on arrival unfortunately the maintenance let it down. Electricity went as dinner was being served to the horror of bride & groom. Was over an hour before it was put back into service. Won't comment further in that regard. Food was fine both dinner & breakfast but unfortunately to have electricity go at significant event is not good enough. Well four poster beds in room were impressive on arrival the room was not as impressive & was very cold. I believe there was issue with heating that weekend also. Perhaps we were just really unlucky...

Breakfast is brilliant! Served by a lovely gentleman named David each morning, nothing was trouble for him, with all our requests. Thank you David! Dinner was slightly different. We had a set menu over three nights. The serving staff were great, particularly Cliona our smiling hostess. The food was lovely, tho' my serving of lamb was particularly small compared to others around me and when I asked for more-altho' I was told yes, none appeared. Pity. Our first night took over 2.5hrs to serve three courses, even though it was known in advance of the group arrival. The following two nights were better and the food was lovely. Enjoy!

Had the carver here one day having seen previous reviews. It was ok, reasonably priced and food was grand, no problem having chips instead of mash, just a minute or two wait for the chips. Nothing spectacular but nothing wrong either. One plus is the parking outside is for half hour free, so that makes it a little easier to chose this place- the chef was accommodating and he and person at the till were friendly.Toilet was nice and clean, and I’d say it’s possibly a nice place for a pint judging by the overall vibe from the place.

A warm welcome awaited us on our arrival .Restaurant was very busy but we were seated in seconds. The extensive menu had something to suit all tastes. I opted for the pan fried Hake while herself waded into a delicious chicken dish. No complaints.
