The seat of the municipality is the city Korçë. The total population is 75,994 (2011 census), in a total area of 805.99 km (311.19 sq mi). The population of the former municipality at the 2011 census was 51,152. It is the sixth largest city in Albania. It stands on a plateau some 850 m (2,789 ft) above sea level, surrounded by the Morava Mountains.

Probably the best pizza we had during our holiday in Albania. Deliciously wood-oven baked, thin crust, royal in cheese and toppings. Lovely and very up-to-the-job staff. One downside (as we experienced in every italian restaurant in Albania): only italian wines...please cherrish your own beautiful wines!

2. Secret Restaurant & Pizza

We went to the secret restaurant with its nice terrace. The service was good and fast. Pizzas were overloaded with cheese (as often in Albania) and salads are drowned into sauce and cheese (some guests may like that since portions get heavy and big).

Nothing special, although they did allow me to chose my pizza ingredients (from quite a small selection). The pedestrian precinct is depressing, with many restaurants that don't seem to have much character. I would go a little further in to the old part of town which has lovely cafes and bars, and is full of people having a good time!

We were 20 people - and we had a reserved table out the back, a long table in front of the pizza oven, so you can see your pizzas being cooked!We ordered a variety of dishes - pasta, kebab, but mostly pizzas! The pizzas don't come all together, so you need to allow for time for that. But the quality was excellent and all were very generous size. The spaghetti carbonara was also very good.The staff were very helpful, and turned down the music when we needed to talk amongst ourselves.The value is also good.The restaurant is just opposite the large central Orthodox church.
