The Top Hut Bar and Bistro is a real Kiwi pub with great food great drinks and friendly staff. We have an excellent choice of meals for all ages and can cater for parties large and small. Be sure to check us out
Ate here while staying in Twizel. The staff were welcoming and right on the job. There is a good selection of dishes available for a restaurant in a small town. Patrons can sit in the bistro or in the adjoining bar. This place got busy in the evening, especially the bar. The food was good, although the steak was over-cooked on 1 night.

We stayed here with a tour group. The building is dated appearing, from 1960s or 1970s, it seems, and the doorknobs still use actual physical keys. The room was comfortable and clean. Our stay included both dinner and breakfast buffets, and actually both were better than I'd have expected based on the dated appearance of the rooms. The inn is located within about a fifteen minute walk of a small shopping center and a couple of grocery stores, but the businesses close early, and we did not go into either one. I think the store selling alcoholic beverages was open a bit later.

Ate here twice when staying in Twizel, as we enjoyed it so much. Very nice Indian food, great vegetarian options (too many!), lovely staff, inexpensive in comparison to other local restaurants; not a small place, but fills up quickly as is good for big groups etc. One time we were sat at a bigger (6 seat) table with another couple at the end of that table - it can get that busy. Overall a great spot!

Twizel's latest social meeting place, combining great food, craft beers and fabulous wines! This contemporary space also plays homage in its design to the Ministry of Works era, the reason that the Twizel township was created. A welcoming vibe and space t
We got in late and it was toward the end of tourist season, so we lucked out that MOW was open. Pleasantly surprised to have really good burger and quesadilla with local beers and wine. Typical bar atmosphere, but a cool place to hangout.

Since its beginnings in 2005, Shawtys has built up a strong reputation, synonymous for fine food and great espresso. A destination in the Mackenzie Country. Open 7 days from 8.30am till late over the summer months with reduced hours during the winter seas
We enjoyed our first breakfast at Shawty's so much that we are going back for a second one tomorrow! They open nice and early so you can have breakfast and then get on with a buys day of sightseeing. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked with tasty mushrooms. The vegan breakfast was full of variety and delicious, and the scrambled eggs were very nice too!Dear WestAussie,Wicked we love reviews like this, thanks for taking the time to let us and the rest of the world know of your great experience. Four of us enjoyed a lovely meal at Poppy's. Twizel is a small village that has limited eating options and Poppy's is a standout option for dinner offering quality and reasonable pricing. Our group enjoyed housemate pasta, lamb curry, pork belly and lamb rack. No complaints from any of these dishes. The were made with good quality ingredients, well cooked and tasty. What a shame we won't be here tomorrow to re-visit Poppy's.Hi there, thank you for your review. I am so glad that you enjoyed your meals, very sad that you could not return to try some of our other dishes, maybe another time!
