Absolutely love this place, have been here every time we visit Queenstown over the past 3 years. The food is excellent and the setting is divine. Recommend booking in advance as it is quite popular these days. The rosè was not as delightful as previous years but still good. Seafood chowder is excellent as are the prawns. The service was a bit lax at first (25 mins waiting for the wine) but they rallied and all went well with the food. Kids menu is also available and very good.

The saying quality over quantity is correct at this delightful restaurant. The meals were not large but they were filling enough and were A1 quality in taste and presentation. We dined on Sat 19th Jan 2019 and I had Snitzel with veggies $22, my daughter had Billy Bob Joe $25 and both satisfied our appetite after a long day. The restaurant is large and welcoming and the staff are equally welcoming and warm. Thank You for a delicious meal and when we are back travelling your beautiful area again we will most certainly call in again.

We always stop here for a drink and food after a long day biking or walking and have never been disappointed. Decor looking a little tired these days and could do with a freshen up especially outdoors, but can’t complain about the food or service.Thank you very much for your review - we are due to begin a big Spring tidy up outside once the school holidays are over ready for a busy Summer - we'd love to know your thoughts when we're done. The Chop Shop Food Merchants

The Chop Shop was recommended to us by family who have visited before and we were not disappointed. It was a beautiful day so we chose a seat at the bar on the deck overlooking the mountains and township. The staff were friendly and service was fast. The coffee is hot and so good. We ordered the Crispy Corn Fritters - best corn fritters I've Had, definitely not your standard cafe type, the chilli caramel served with it, was to die for. My husband ordered the Spicy Nasi Goreng which was also very yummy and full of flavour. Most of the menu items were a little different from your stock standard cafe breakfast menus. Staff even came around and offered everyone sombreros and funny sunglasses which created a fun vibe for the great weather.

Impromptu dinner, corner pub full so tried slow cuts, busy but got last tall table, yay. Quick service with efficient and funny waiters. Burgers are what they say, just the burger no chips etc. Flavousome, highly reccomend. Deserts, banana one a bit ho hum but baked chocolate fudge excellent, worth breaking months long no sugar in diet.

Small cozy restaurant hidden off of the main drag. The Spanish menu had various sized tapas to share. The portions were generous, authentic and nicely presented. Complementary garlic bread was excellent! We also enjoyed watermelon ceviche, polenta with sautéed mushrooms, and prawns. Craft cocktail list was very good, with a well-balanced wine list. Mostly locals in the restaurant, reservations are needed, or option to sit at the bar as we did. Staff very friendly.

Lovely meal overall. And one of the finest dishes I’ve eaten in a long time.But... some issues as well which detracted from a good night out. The good and great - the beetroot and goats cheese salad. Amazing flavour punch and a beautiful dish. One of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. The amuse they served and the main course of a trio of lamb were also really nice. The not so good. Unfortunately it equals the good. A weird dish of salmon and spring vegetables with a jus. It was halfway between Vietnamese and cafe fusion fare. It was not good. And a couple of weird desert courses. Most odd was a chocolate mouse studded with chocolate rice bubble cake. Like. 5 year old’s birthday dessert. With a nice enough raspberry gelato, but the flavour and texture clash made this dish a clunker. Final score. Three good to great and three unmotivated to poor dishes. Hmmm. Overall I enjoyed it all, but left a bit disappointed. A waitress (new and nervous) dropped our main course of food on our table in a major clanger. Not so much as even a sorry from the restaurant manager or a glass of wine as we had to wait another 15 minutes for replacement food to come. That was poor. Accidents happen but it’s easy for the mgt to fix, and in this occasion they failed the test. All in all. It’s good. Dear 888Hamm,Thank you for providing us with your feedback, we are pleased that some of the dishes hit the mark for you and apologize that the others weren't to your taste. I personally spoke to the Manager on duty the following morning about the dropped plate and they assured me that they had been over to apologise so i will follow up on that.We hope to see you back at Millbrook and The Millhouse in the near future.Kind Regards,Matt McDonald
