We tried the Petra after reading the good reviews here and were not disappointed. We arrived on a Monday around 11am, and the dining rooms were mainly empty with just a few tables oocupied. The whole front room looking out to Matamoros was ours! My Chilaquiles Toluqueños were fantastic as was my wife's omlette. Coffee was good, and the service, while a bit frosty, was fast enough. We willbe back for dinner sometime!Thanks for review hope to see you soon!

Mexican cuisine is one of the most important and most extensive in the world. This restaurant is a seafood restaurant with modern Mexican cuisine that serves mainly their creations that have evolved for many years. The shrimp and lobster tacos are very good. All shellfish cocktails are also a safe bet.Basically the whole menu not only good but unique to this restaurant. The secrets (as is with all seafood) is to choose local fish caught in the wild. Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi are good examples as to what to choose and Sole fish and Maine lobster are NOT a good choice because they are pre frozen. Go with local catch and you can't go wrong.

We had huevos divorciados and chilaquiles verdes with juices. Both were quite nice and the juices were fresh. We got a table in front of the window facing the walking street so we could also enjoy some people watching. The restaurant is clean, the staff is attentive and the prices are reasonable. A nice place to start your day.

Right next to our awful hotel in Toluca was this incredible hole-in-the-wall, filled-with-locals asadera restaurant. For 7 1/2 bucks you get this huge plate of arrachera, grilled beef chopped into little squares with tortillas and salsa. Sort of make-your-own soft tacos. The flavor was incredible and juicy and the chica plate (small) was big enough for 3 people. I couldn't eat it all. They have beer but no hard liquor. The food is cooked in the same room as the dining area. Very informal. Worth returning to Toluca for.

The Ciatro is my favorite breakfast spot in Toluca, easily surpassing Amaranto. This roomy and pet friendly former house is a calm oasis in the noisy city center. The breakfast choices are creative and well presented. I loved the eggs benedict in perhaps the most original presentation I have seen of those. Friendly and fast service. I would give them 6 stars if I could!We truly appreciate your comment. Our customers and their satisfaction are extremely important to us. Place seem to be small at arrival but its size is just right. Your menu will be a bit diferent. Go thru the hold clip board and plan your ordering, atempt to try something from each page, will not regret.Gordita plate is great and don't be scared of the bone marow, scrape it dry. The mole verde is hot! Albondiga plate is great and surprising. Try the homemade tortillas. Cafe de olla the 2nd best ever! Good service, and table always kept clean. Tepache is served...wife loved it after adding club soda to it.

At the time of this writing, I had not dined at mid-day (it closes at 6), but oh the breakfast. Memorable. For less than $18 including tip, and being treated like royalty by staff (great service in other words), I enjoyed artisanal bread, a capirotada, a cacao galleta, coffee, and chile stuffed with a tamal of melty cheese and frijol puree. Wow. Just wow.Now, I am not a foam and powder guy. My preference is a simple comida corrida when in Mexico. But this place had me already planning to go back the next day for lunch.
