The municipality is located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is located on the south eastern edge of the Ruhr area, 15 km south of Dortmund, where the rivers Lenne and Volme (met by the river Ennepe) meet the river Ruhr. As of 31 December 2010, the population was 188,529. The city is home to the FernUniversität Hagen, which is the only state funded distance education university in Germany. Hier vermutet man auf dem ersten Blick nicht solche Qualität. Wir wurden freundlich begrüÃt und haben einen guten Tisch zugewiesen bekommen. Die Speisekarte hat eingeübte Auswahl. Auch die Weinkarte gibt einiges an Herrlichkeiten her. Sehr gute Zubereitung, echt schmackhaft.

We visited this restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews, after visiting a museum in Hagen. The owner welcomed us as if we were part of the family! The restaurant is unexpectedly cosy and colourful, which is in contrast with the grey-ish residential area. Not more that ~35 seating places. We had a shared starter (antipasto misto), which looked very good on the website. This was good, although a bit small for 2 (and for the price), additionally odd ingredients such as surimi have no place in an italian starter... As main courses, we both chose from the daily specials: I had a pasta with italian salsiccia (with fennel seed), and my husband had the recommended lamb with rosemary sauce: this was to die for: tender and delicious, and came with one of his favourite vegetables: chard (=coste). My pasta had a very nice tomato sauce and the italian sausage was fresh and authentic, but didn't blow me away. We then shared a tiramisú, which was really excellent. The house wine was also nice. All in all a very nice evening, we would love to try the pizza if we are in the area another time.

Prepared with love. And served with a smile. The restaurant has a beautiful vibe, the staff are very kind and the food was fresh and delicious! I think this is the only reataurant I like in Hagen.
