We came here because it was the first result when looking for nice outdoor patio seating in Nanaimo. But there's no seating at all... so Tripadvisor should look into fixing that. Aside from that the food was incredible, and the value is excellent, would definitely reccomendHello Matthew,Thank you for taking the time giving us positive feedback. The fish and ingredients were all fresh and very wwell prepared! I have been craving some âreally goodâ sushi and Sushi Wara exceeded my expectations! Steve was awesome and the rest of the staff were so friendly and happy. It was nice to see that! Seemed like they really enjoyed working there. Iâm from Ucluelet but will definitely be back again! Itâs a little south of Nanaimo (just before the duke point ferries near Rona) but so worth the extra drive! Be sure to tip good cause they deserve it! Thanks so much for an amazing lunch! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸Writing this review is making my mouth water. Seriously great sushi!!!

My husband and I have had dinner here several times and I can tell you this is more than sushi but all the Japanese favourites beyond. And so well too. Hubby has traveled in Japan extensively and this is an authentic experience with variety and a great atmosphere. It is also not loud and noisy like other Japanese restaurants in this city. Tonight we had okonomiyaki, shrimp shumai, a house specialty roll, and pork don with hot saki. What a wonderful feast and under $50. We will return. Thank you for coming we are looking forward to seeing you again!

Sushi rolls were tiny, Agadashi was syrupy instead of crunchy and the price for all 30% too high. It is about time an authentic Japanese restaurant appeared in this area. Visit Kishimoto in Vancouver for decently prepared and priced Japanese food.

My favourite was the Seaweed Salad---which isn't yet on the menu as they only just began serving it. The tempura was crisp and tasty, but maybe a bit oily. Miso soup might be a bit salty for some. I was a bit disappointed with my Chicken Yakisoba. The chicken was fine, the vegetables fresh, but the teriyaki sauce was boring.

This place beats most sushi restaurants we used to visit in Lower Mainland! Taking one point off only on account of the rice yesterday at lunchtime - might have been from the previous evening batch. Do try "monkey brains" - seems like Island specialty, we had it in Langford and now here, but never seen it on the menu in Vancouver.

We arrived just as they were opening and joined another 20 or so people outside. It was my first time visiting here and it looked like a popular place to be. Upon entry to the restaurant though I was left to wonder what they had actually done during the period they were closed because they certainly hadnât cleaned. Under our table was enough rice to put together a small California roll! It was not a good look. I didnât say anything though as it looked like the rest of the floor was in a similar state, they could have only moved us to a table with a bit less rice under it. We ordered and it took a bit of a while to arrive but when it did, it was worth the wait. The sushi was amazing! If I ever come back here, itâll be to get take away - the sushi is spot on but the restaurant needs some work. Wouldnât eat in there again.
