Pretty San Pellegrino is down on its luck. What was once a famous spa town now has a number of closed hotels, the Funicular railway hasn't worked for years, the Railway station no longer has trains and the Baths and Casino are shuttered. But someone is spending a lot of money restoring the beautiful Casino. Hopefully they have turned the corner?I was travelling with a large group of friends and I guess Albergo Papa di Farlotta was the only place we could eat together. Eating as a large group is always a challenge for the chef and his staff and I wasn't expecting much. But the food and the service were actually very good! Didn't hear anyone moaning and everyone leaving had a smile on their faces!Try the thinly sliced pineapple in rum. Simple but I've not had it like that! (But I aim to try it at home)! Very tasty.

Been there 2 times. I really think it's the best restaurant ever! Very friendly service, very cosy interior and food... oh my God... food is simply out of rate. I almost eat my tongue, because it was SO tasty! Home made food, very huge portions and friendly price. Thanks La Torre! You are my favourite restaurant forever!

Sta in comodissima posizione, davanti all'uscita delle terme, al di là della strada. Bellissimo ambiente, di grande spaziosità , con piacevole vista dalle finestre che danno a valle. Tavoli ben spaziati, architettura ben conservata, arredo fedele al nome, con tocchi vintage di bell'effetto. Eccellente il servizio, di gran bei modi, educato e spontaneo. Conosce, spiega e consiglia i piatti. Sarebbe forse da migliorare il sincronismo dei piatti. Buona carta dei vini. I piatti sono di normale porzione e ben presentati ma a mio avviso, a fronte di tutto il resto e del prezzo, non mordono abbastanza da lasciare memoria, risultando il punto di minore personalità del locale.

A nice trattoria, in a green valley. A few kilometers off Bergamo, we found this delightful family restaurant, where the ingredients are mostly local and prepared with love and care. The owner is very talkative and he will tell you the story of his 100-years old dinasty of restaurant owners. In the summer, there is a beautiful terrace, with plenty of fowers. They also specialize in barbeques.

We were three for lunch at Grabbia and left delighted. It had just started snowing when we arrived and the cozy ambiance of the restaurant was a great start. All of the food was very local, most homemade or homegrown/raised there at the agriturismo, and the owner was happy to answer all of our questions about the different dishes. The highlight of our meal was the goose raised on their farm. We also loved the leek quiche, smoked goose cured meat and casoncelli. We could tell as we ate that they cook course by course and serve everyone at the restaurant at same time. There isn't much choice of what exactly you eat, and there is a lot of meat, but there was a big variety of plates. Would definitely return!

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a restaurant. We love micro-breweries and were happy to see they had a pretty full food menu, too. The help were very friendly and very accommodating. We tried 3 beers, my husband had a pasta dish and I had polenta. We then had the birramisu for dessert which was delicious. A nice change from traditional tiramisu.

We tried the cooking service and the quality is good : assortment of lard and cold cuts local produced with polenta as starter, and risotto with taleggio cheese and rocket as main course. The wine list is short but it's sufficient for the purpose. The veranda alongside the street is nice but the acoustics is very bad and it's difficult to have a conversation.

What a disappointing venue!! The meals were very bad. Nearly all meals on the menu were served with 'polenta' [mashed corn], hardly anything with pasta or potatoes etc! And the grilled 'polenta' we've had was completely oversalted. The pizza was disappointing too. The base of the pizza was badly done and as soft as a sponge and the mushrooms on the pizza were not fresh [as advertised] but just defrosted ones with awful taste. And last but not least: the vine we had was very bad as well. Trust us: any other restaurant in town is heaps better!! Don't spoil your stay in San Pellegrino with food from Tirolese!!!

Ci sono stato per un matrimonio. Il parcheggio è molto ampio. La vista delle terrazze è molto bella e l'accoglienza è cordiale e il personale molto gentile. Tutto è pulito e ogni dettaglio è curato. Il personale di sala e gli addetti alla ristorazione sono stati molto gentili e sempre con il sorriso. Il menu gustato durante il matrimonio era molto buono, di ottima qualità e ben presentato; ho molto apprezzato la proposta di cucina regionale (che il giorno successivo ho prontamente acquistato in un negozio di pasta fresca). Complimenti, a voi e a tutto lo staff.
