Went here with a party of friends/colleagues for what we thought was going to be 'nibbles' and following a really depressing, heavy and greasy meal the night before in Assissi...this was the total opposite and totally restored our faith in the wonder of Italian cooking. Enter through an unprepossessing door, with no hint of the 'restaurant' about it, into a cheerful, bright interior to be welcomed by young, smiling, enthusiastic staff. Our meal had been pre-ordered and was a voyage of joyful discovery! a wonderful tomatoey starter, tart and pungent and moreish; light, melt-in-the-mouth tempura vegetables; sticky, risotto with the flavour of local truffles making it impossible not to eat even though I was full to bursting...rich, local wine completed the feast. If you find yourselves in Foligno - get yourselves there!

We stopped in the small town of Capadacqua on our way across Umbria with friends and were so pleased we found this restaurant. The restaurant itself is very charming inside and the owners so friendly and welcoming. The food was also fresh, with menu times both from Umbria/Marche and Emilia-Romagna. We tried fried rabbit, which was very good, as was the lamb, and the pasta dishes were homemade and tasty (particularly the meat ragu). The liquor at the end of the meal was a special treat as well. This was a wonderful stop for dinner with very reasonable prices.

This was a wonderful find on a recent trip, the food is amazing and the service excellent we had a wonderful shared starter, the bacon and balsamic dish was spectacular. Main courses very good and the 'jam tart' was light and just right at the end of an excellent meal.Thank you very much Anna for her words.Have a good trip

in trasferta per lavoro cerco nei dintorni un posto dove cenare e bere una buona birraviste le numerose recensioni positive scelgo questo localeprima impressione negativa (sala caldissima e niente clima servizio un po approssimativo, ma non fa nientecibo non esaltante ma accettabile birra buona conto secondo me eccessivoè vero che sul menu ci sono i prezzi ma 31,4 ⬠per un Hamburger troppo cotto patatine fritte (UNTE!) e due birre medie non è di sicuro economiconon mi sento di sconsigliarlo ma nemmeno di dire il contrario

You have to be very brave and secure in your idea about gastronomy:):):) to open restaurant which offers only soups and few dessert's. I must say that soups are very delicious but they must make better desserts. Our carrot cake was too dry.Great place for lunch if you are not too hungry:)

As residents of Foligno for some years now, we find that most of the restaurants offer many of the same local Umbrian dishes. Service is almost always top-notch and, well, the food in Umbrian restaurants is usually simple, high quality and presented in uncomplicated ways. One is rarely disappointed. Then there's La Lanterna Dei Trinci. We had a wonderful dinner last night and not only was the food excellent (sliced beef, pork with basalmic vinegar and other tasty things), the small dining room and jovial customers (who were singing to old 60's Italian classics) made us happy. I felt as if we entered the set of an Italian film and we were acting in the story!!!!! The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!

We've eatern in most of our local restaurants but for some reason never at Il Cavalieri. Maybe because it is in a bit of no mans land but not far from Finsbury Park. Went there two weeks ago on a match day so the menu was restricted but no problem as what was on offer was really good. I had a pasta with strips of fillet steak - delicious. My starter was Calamari Fritti - also very good. Antonio is charming and amusing and we were given other little tasters. It was so good we went back last week when the full menu was available and we'll be going again soon!

Lovely cosy restaurant in the old centre of Foligno. The owner/chef is Sicilian and there are many typical Sicilian dishes on the varied menu. There are also some very creative photos around to enjoy as well as the excellent food.

Located in the square behind main street. We took plate of local ham and cheese for starter. It is enough for two. For main course we selected gnocchi al Sagrantinio and tortellini with truffles. Of course local wine and water. For desert cheesecake and tiramisu (don't take it, not good). Price was â¬60. Now about service - you can wait ages for them, but could appoint traditional Umbria food.Dear clients,Thank you very much for your comment. We always try to do our best, but I hope you understand we always serve our food as fresh as it can be, and that's why when there are many clients, it's reasonable to wait for 20 mins more or less, afterall we are not serving fast food :) . About the tiramisù, we do it in a light way without mascarpone so that clients can enjoy it without worrying too much the heavy fat the traditional one contains, maybe there was some communciation missed that made it a bit unclear. I hope next time you can enjoy another dessert which tastes more closed to your expectation. Once again thank you for your comment and look forward to seeing you again and wish you a beautiful day! Five of us had dinner here, and it was a nice experience.The restaurant is in an historic building. Spacing between tables is wide making for good conversation and low noise level.Our group split as to the entrees, with several people ordering the pappardelle with wild boar ragu, and others going with the roasted suckling pig. Both were good, but the pig was the favorite with moist meat and crispy skin.We were split again for desserts with some ordering the nougat semi-freddo, and others the dark chocolate brownie. Again, we shared and agreed all were very good and probably the best part of the dinner.The house wines were good and a great value.At the end of the night we agreed that it was a good dinner, but not the five star experience the reviews had us hoping for.
