Hakubai Japanese Restaurant

Authentic Japanese Restaurant. You can eat sushi, sashimi, sukiyaki....

The best thing about the Solomon Kitano Mendana Hotel is this restaurant. As a result of an unexpected rescheduling of our flight we needed to stay overnight in Honiara. As it was Saturday the buffet was our only option and it was fabulous. Some of the freshest tuna sashimi I have ever tasted. Other Japanese specialities were well executed including savory custard, tempura, sushi, nori rolls and teriyaki skewers.

King Solomon Hotel

Visited here in 2010 for a fantastic seafood buffet dinner. Tried again in 2011 but in between me booking and the night I went, they had changed to a set menu. While cheaper at $100SOL per person, it was nothing fantastic with minimal topping on my pizza.

The Thai food here is really nice, from the Thai fried rice, som tam, Tomyam. Really well servings. I was there on Sunday night, um, quite disappointing as the environment is really too quiet and since it is open air and I just requested the staff to open the fan above my table but it was rejected. I have no idea why but the friend just say it is still fine, so I just ignore, Was having a HOT dinner.

After our morning viewing local attractions, we decided to sample the local fare and as this café/restaurant was on our route we decided to venture inside. We were pleasantly surprised - cool, clean, friendly staff , great atmosphere, locals and tourists mingling. The fare was decidedly European so we opted for drinks, coffees and some cakes. Cold drinks placed before us at the counter, we returned to our table to await the remainder of our order. This was soon delivered by a friendly staff member, it was enjoyed by both my wife and I. Frankly, it was as good as any enjoyed by us in other cities. This place is an absolute gem and a must visit if in Honiara.

I am very impressed with the salads and juices at this place - tucked away from the centre of Honiara in a rather unimposing building. The range of juices and smoothies is impressive, with imaginative additions to the standard tropical fare. The salad ranges are limited but tasty. I have not tried the sandwiches. I would aim to take away rather than eat in as the facilities are limited.

Taj Mahal indian restaurant

Reviewed By DianneKamerling - Cooroy, Australia

We had dinner here one night, service was very good, the quality & quantity of food was excellent & not too spicy. Restaurant very clean & well laid out. It's not at the Point Cruz Yacht Club, but across the road from it (on the main road) up a flight of stairs, which need a good scrub as it doesn't give a first good impression of the restaurant.

The Bamboo Bar Cafe

Reviewed By Ellie Faamauri F

The beautifully decorated tropical bamboo-themed interior with its comfortable Seating (both inside and outdoors) automatically sets the mood for family, friends or business gathering – definitely a place I would highly recommend for business lunches for its privacy and less noise/bustle though located in middle of the capital. This is my perfect stop for a flatwhite whenever I’m about in town running errands I will always make time to grab my flatwhite or have a sit down with a cuppa to relax in the cool air-conditioned bamboo café just to re-energise before I shoot off again. I also admire that it has always maintained its standard of cleanliness and is especially known to have the most well-kept and spacious toilet rooms for that much needed refreshment in middle of the day. I chose bamboo café as my favourite coffee stop simply because it has all the best of everything any café has to offer with staff who won’t keep you waiting too long for your order. Thankyou Bamboo café, I look forward to my next visit.

The Ofis Solomon Islands

We dine for lunch (Sunday) and took us about an hour to find the place. Even people around the area didn't know about the restaurant that we tried asking people about the Ofis restaurant. When we finally get there, we were assisted by the carpark security (not in uniform). The food is average except for the pizza (really yummie) but a bit prizee compared to other restaurants in the City with a cat on our table who also take a part from our food.
Great place to relax because of the view...But if planning to stay longer after your meal, stay outside the restaurant coz they only have few tables inside.

Coral Sea Resort & Casino

Reviewed By kateo2GoldCoast - gold coast

Pros
- food
- drinks
Cons
- construction all day
- staff need additional training
- outdoor spas need fixing (most likely all of them) as they dont get hot
- villa is wayy to expensive for what you get! And there is absolutely no privacy.
Trying to get assistance was difficult and we were met with a very rude manager
- we were overcharged by $500aud because they assumed we put a hole in their wall. It took 1 month to get it refunded.
Dont stay here!
