角館駅前にある、「生もろこし」で有名なお店で、角館エリアに数店舗ありますが、ここは駅前にあるので、角館通過の方も停車時間が10分もあれば買いに行くことができるかと思います。独特の食感の柔らかい生菓子ですが、試食で頂く分には良いのですが、色々なお店のスイーツを小分けで買って楽しみたい、という方には、この生もろこしは”単品”的な販売がないので、ちょっとだけ食べたい、という方には向かないかと思います。

What a surprise to find such a great restaurant in sleepy Lake Tazawa! While the menu isn't entirely organic, it seems they try to incorporate local products and lots of fresh vegetables into the dishes. I'm a vegetarian and had no problems finding things on the menu. We really enjoyed our meal.

国道４６号線秋田と岩手の県境仙岩峠にあるドライブインです。秋田方面からはトンネルの手前、盛岡方面からはトンネルを抜けた所にあり、中間地点として休憩するには最適です。名物はおでんと山菜そば各５００円。濃く甘くしょっぱい出汁がいかにも東北という雰囲気ピッタリ。絶壁の上にせり出した窓際のテラスから眼下に田沢湖線の鉄路を見渡すことが出来ます。運が良ければ秋田新幹線「こまち」が通過するのも目撃できます。鉄道ファンの方にはおでんとそばを食べながら極上のひとときを過ごせることでしょう。

I love soba, I especially love hand beaten 手打 tempura zaru soba. Goro soba is located just directly opposite the JR Tazawako Station. The soba at Goro Soba is really good, chewy and firm. The tempura is fried to perfection, the prawns and veggies are just nicely and evenly coated with the batter. And they use freshly grated wasabi here. I personally feel that zaru soba is best eaten when dipped in sauce that is mixed with freshly grated wasabi.
The powdered ones most eatery used are a bit too strong for me and it makes the sauce too cloudy.

You can have a tea and lunch here in the classic building. They offers several kinds of dishes and teas, such as fusion BBQ, Japanese lunch-box, today's lunch, and a cup of delicious coffee etc. Service and taste are nice. In autumn, you will see read leafs. Sit beside windows. Probably here is the only place you can have a meal in an original samurai-house in this area.

角館駅から武家屋敷に向かう途中。峠のような場所にある八百屋さんです。
ここの奥に喫茶部があって、フルーツパフェが大人気。桃のパフェをいただきましたが、見た目もきれいだし、これでもかというほどのボリュームで大満足。価値あるお店だと思います。

This is a must -try place to eat if you are at this area. There is a long queue but worth the wait. The lunch set is worth it and portion is just right. It is valuable for money and it is a good place to try soba if you have not done so while in Akita.
