My wife and I recently did a tour of Normandy, during which we spent a couple of delightful days in Rouen. We had booked Restaurant Gill, as the obvious place for our fine dining evening. It was all that and more.
The two Michelin stars are very well deserved here. The interior is contemporary, subtle and extremely comfortable. The food, wine and service were off the charts good. We began with a crab dish that was delicious, then had their Rouen-style roasted pigeon which defies description. If was wonderful, and possible one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. It was very easy to find a wine that beautifully accompanied this fine meal. The biggest surprise was the bill. It was surprisingly small for such a grand feast.

Think this is the 3rd or 4th visit to this fabulous restaurant. The staff are amazing and make you feel that you belong here. As for the food well that is also fabulous, Fruits de mer and a a huge turbot were shared by us and our French friends and what a delicious meal it was with great wine, great service, and staff that are so very attentive.
Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant, better book as they are very popular and they speak English. Do not go to Rouen without going here

Would thoroughly recommend La Marmite! We booked well in advance (this is a small restaurant) and enjoyed easily the best meal we have eaten in Rouen. We were excited to visit Kaboul after the great reviews here on TripAdvisor. Ordered 2 appetizers and 4 main courses. Not only were they all bland (we weren't expecting particularly spicy food), but all the food tasted more or less the same. Compared to the average French food, this certainly has a 'different' flavor, but nothing spectacular or even average. We came away from this restaurant not just disappointed, but also flabbergasted as to the extremely high rating of this restaurant.

I found that place while I was discovering the neighborhood of my hotel. It is very cozy place; the decoration, the ambiance and the lighting are very nice. The hostess is very welcoming and helpful. The menu is not fixed; I guess they change it every week. I went there for diner without any reservation and I was lucky to find a table. I had a very yummy meal “blanquette d’agneau” which is a tradition of French cuisine with a red Bordeaux wine. As for desert, it was ok… I had better choices in France.
I can’t wait to go back to Rouen to pass again by this lovely place and try something new.

Best local ingredients and great home cooking! For ladies with a small appetite, please beware not to over eat. It’s located at the end of the quiet street with a cozy ambience. No hesitation to recommend. Definitely want to come back for more. All dishes taste good, and yes, the set comes with a selection of French cheese, which can be a dish on its own!

The food was delicious-modern French with plenty of choice We arrived a little early(7.10) but this was not a problem and the service started at 7.30. The chef/owner's wife was very attentive and, having lived in the UK for several years spoke excellent English so out less-than excellent French did not matter. Even though it was a Monday evening the soon room filled with locals which is a recommendation in itself. A very pleasant evening with good food and wine.

The service was slow, people were nice but the food was just okay. Our table was a little shaky, that could have been fixed. Decent place to go, but definitely not a must.

Quite pricey but fair for what you get since the cuisine is of high standards. One of us had a starter and main, the other a main and dessert, plus 2 beers and 1 glass of wine, tea and coffee and we paid 80 EUR. The place is small with only about 10 tables so book in advance.

Great food. We had variété de mezzés, variété de mezzés végétarien, chiche Taouk, Kefta and chawarma boeuf - the latter was so good that I probably never will forget this dish!
