Haven't stayed at the Hirschen but have eaten here twice about a year apart, the latest being May 2013. Food is of a traditional home cooked Swiss style but none the worse for it. Service was good on both occasions and I enjoyed both meals as long as you're not expecting Haute cuisine. Also attached to the guesthouse is a smoking bar which is a blast from the past.

The restaurant is located in the suburb city of Zurich called Regensdorf-Watt. Approximately a 15 minute S-bahn (S6) ride from Zurich HB, then just a 3 minute walk from the Regensdorf-Watt S-bahn station. I visited Thai Playa on a rainy day, so the large outdoor Seating area was not being used. The interior was very nice (white tablecloths) and the bathroom was very clean, though the soap dispenser was broken or empty.
The all you can eat buffet is priced at CHF 19.50 and consisted of 1 chicken dish, 1 prawn dish, a veggie/stir fry dish, 1 soup, 1 deep fried item and 2 rice dishes (steamed & fried). I thought the taste of the food was average or mediocre. A stange (bier) was only CHF 4.20. Though it was the lunch rush (not terribly busy), I observed that the food buffet items were on the slower side to be refilled as many customers had to wait for the staff to replenish the dishes as the serving trays on the buffet line seemed small. I thought many of the customers would have eaten more (as I saw them often, turn around in their seats to see if the buffet had been replenished) but due to the slow replenishment of items and the customers limited work time lunch break, in my opinion a few people left there hungry. Customers were given a final fruit sample after the meal though I was not offered one.
Would I return again? I do not think the venture to the suburbs for this buffet is worth another trip. (My comments are for the buffet only and do not represent the regular entrees of the standard menu).

It is easy to miss Da Angela if you drive past. And you certainly would miss out. I had one of their lunch specials which left me with a very happy tummy. Service is friendly & attentive without being overbearing and prices are reasonable for the quality of food. The restaurant was full during lunch hour but that didn't slow them down.

The food, ambience, services are great. Food portion is quite big. Tartare is well seasoned, and for non tartare fan, there are other options . My daughter loves the dessert, coffee mousse which is absolutely delicious. Must try when in zurich

It has been years since we had a meal at the Linden, but we were glad to retry it last week. We were welcomed by kind and professional staff. Our main course (we only had one course) was on the table 20 minutes after we arrived. The dishes were well cooked and very tasty.
We ate upstairs, outside on the balcony. Although this is next to a pretty busy intersection, the noise did not disturb our lovely meal.
Definitely going back for more.

The selection of the food is quite good. I tried the buffet and it is quite diversified and with excellent dishes. In particular the dessert were very good, but also the meat and the side dishes. Nothing to complain!

Nice and warm place, we were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and we were served by a super nice and gentle young chap. Being in Schlieren for business I have been here for a couple of times. Definitely recommend it for dinner. Meat choice is wide enough to satisfy everibody's tastes. Homemade sauces are great. The girls are kind and prices are within zurich area average.

This was within walking distance of our hotel---we ordered kabob wraps for takeaway to eat in the park across the street. The restaurant actually has ample space for eating in--it's quite spacious, but we wanted to eat outside (there is a patio just outside of the restaurant as well, but it's on a busy road). The wraps are like big burritos of wonderfully flavorful kabob meat and then whatever filling you wish. Know that if you order the one with pommes frites, the pommes frites actually get wrapped into the wrap, they're not on the side. Great service, great food, highly recommend it.
