Mthatha /uːmˈtɑːtɑː/ ( listen), is the main town of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality in Eastern Cape province of South Africa and the capital of OR Tambo District Municipality. The town has an airport, previously known by the name K. D. Matanzima Airport after former leader Kaiser Matanzima. Mthatha derives its name from the nearby Mthatha River which was named after the Sneezewood (umtati) trees, famous for their wood and medicinal properties.

The food was typically South African and the price was decent. My chicken curry was very good and my wife liked the fish of the day, which was angel fish. The Deserts, Malva and chocolate puddings were delicious. The service was friendly; but somewhat slow. ZAR 550 for 2 people including a nice bottle of wine.

Based at the Mthatha Golf Club for many years now this restaurant is a favourite stop for either a drink or a meal. There is a fairly extensive menu offering something for most and the prices are very competitive. There are both indoor and outdoor tables available. Food quality is good and consistent so no surprises. A recommended stop while in Mthatha.

We stayed at the Hotel Savoy and arrived late so just wanted take away pizza. Was met at the door and showed a table to check out the menu and put in our order. Nandos is my favorite restaurant in London therefore I have decided to try the South African version. The menu is quite different . I took chicken strips with rice extra hot. the rice was covered by too much sauce. Extra hot in Africa is much more spicy than in London. The decorations are pretty similar.

I have been to several M&B's in the Johannesburg area and was thrilled to have one open in my little town, and since my first visit I have been hooked, the food caters for just about everyone and the bottomless coffee is a real bonus, this lives up to their motto of "Giving You More and More".

Last week we visited the Spurs. I heard about Spurs from my collegues so I thought this would be a good restaurant to have a 'quick' dinner.
We came in and the employees were really enthousiastic and asked us to follow the waitress to the table. But after we seated, all the enthousiasm went away, The waitress was not friendly and only said the things she had to say. 'What do you want to drink', 'can I take your order'. She was not smiling, not enthousiastic at all and we had to wait a long time for the drinks.
Then we received the food. First the shared chicken buffalo wings. They were okay but to much barbecue sauce and I don't like barbecue sauce, but that is just a personal meaning.( I think it was barbecue sauce) After the starter we received a main course. It was a steak. Also with barbecue sauce, and the steak was really well-done. I asked for a medium-rare. My boyfriend had the same. So it was not tasty at all.
Overall we experienced a bad service, bad food quality and we will not visit this restaurant ever again.
