Visited this cosy restaurant on the 13thFebruary. The atmosphere was splendid with a few patrons enjoying a quiet meal. We enjoyed a carpaccio of seabass and a surf-and-turf starter. The taste was exquisite. Then we continued to indulge ourselves in the second course, where we selected a selection of lamb and a plate of Arborio rice with cheese respectively. Again their taste was wonderful.
A nice bottle of local wine accompanied the food nicely. Service was courteous and timely. Well done to the lads working there, though we did notice the lack of female staff.
Overall this was an enjoyable dinner which we savoured!

This restaurant is situated in the hearth of Mgarr (Malta) and for all those who like to eat Maltese food especially Rabbit ,this is the right place. one can also find a good menu with other home specialties. the atmosphere is nice and welcome. Service good and prices very reasonable.

We read the reviews on trip advisor and gave bouquet grain a try on our first night in Malta Tuesday evening not too busy to start but popular by end of evening, duck and vegetables beautifully cooked and I had red snapper lovely fish. Would recommend the mussels looked lush steaming hot and plentiful. Thank you for a lovely meal, polite staff and the touches of bread and dips etc at the beginning and limoncello at the end gratis a nice touch, best pavlova I’ve tasted too.

Good food and fair prices. Good menu but the atmosphere is very public. If you are hungry after visiting the nice village of Mgarr and its countryside and megalithic temples, then il-barri is a go choice to for a lunch and a break. Otherwise, it is out of the way and nothing special to make the long journey worth it

This restaurant is situated in Mgarr, a small town approximately 12 km from St. Julian’s. On the evening we visited the place was packed, so the service was a bit slow. It serves traditional Maltese dishes with highlights being snails, horse meat and rabbit cooked either in wine and garlic, fried or stew. I am personally not very fond of horse meat, but it was very tender and well cooked in a thick red sauce with wine and garlic. The snails were excellent as was the rabbit in all forms. The portion sizes are big, so beware when ordering! Lovely place and worth the visit if you enjoy rustic food and especially rabbit. Prices also are very moderate!!

The Gelato here was amazing. No need to worry if you have allergies this wonderful little shop had gelato made from lots of alternatives. rice milk, sugar free to name just two. They tasted incredible both the full fat etc varieties and the free from flavours. If you like ice cream you have to try Gelato WoW!!! See for yourself the amazing flavours and the beautiful texture of Gelato. Go on have a treat you will not be disappointed.

We went there with family and friends and was really satisfied.
It is a very small restaurant with a warm cosy atmosphere. There was only another table dining with us and we also made friends with them.
Food was excellent.
We had the Maltese platter , rabbit ravioli with the best rabbit sauce I ever tasted and
For main we had Rabbit cooked in wine and garlic... all was very good.
It's sort of a one man show... Bertu is the waiter / barman/ chef and coped with everything perfectly
We will be back again.

We visited this bar on the first night of our stay in MGarr for a beer and a glass of wine after a long day of travelling because it looked lovely and quaint. We were seated by the lovely owner who recommended we try the local beer Cisk or his own homemade Wine (both fantastic and great value for money). We sat outside this bar on a street overlooking the church of MGarr and the whole experience felt magical. A couple next to us ordered some food which looked amazing (remember this is a wine bar that does food not a restaurant that does wine so the food menu is very small). We decided we must come back and consequently did... every night of our 1 week stay except for 2 nights where the bar was closed (Closed Mondays and we got back to MGarr late on Tuesday). On one occasion we tried the food; a Maltese platter and the chicken kebabs with potatoes and salad which was prepared and served beautifully. The food was perfect and well priced - around €25 for food and a round of drinks. This seemed a popular place for locals to go and everyone there was so welcoming and I can't speak higher for the owner who would come and sit with us, discuss our days and advise us on where to go. Unfortunately we didn't get to say goodbye to him but I'm sure we will return to Malta one day and return to this bar. I recommend it to everyone. It made our holiday that little bit more special. Thank you!

Stopped at Mgarr Farmers snack bar and ordered 2 Lasagna, Spaghetti with Rabbit sauce, Portion chips and 3 soft drinks. All this for € 17.70 !! The portions were huge and very filling. Not the best of service but you eat well for such a small amount of money.
